Board book is missing pages and the story loses its meaning.
I purchased this board book thinking it was the real deal, meaning it was the entire book in a board book format. Buy the real book and skip the board book. Missing pages and losing the story line is not worth saving a few dollars. I threw the board book in the tree and had to buy the hardcover which had the true version. I ended up wasting money and spending more money for this book than I should have. The story itself is simple, funny and a little off beat. My children LOVE it. I read it to them all the time. With be shorted board book version something was off. When we finally read the full version it made more sense and highlighted the funny parts to this unique story. Don't get "stuck" with the junk board book. If you do then throw it in the tree.

Terrifically fun read-aloud!
As some of you may know, our girls have gone to a wonderful play-based preschool here in our neighborhood. One of the only teacher-driven times in their day is storytime, which focuses on repeated readings of the same book throughout the week. One favorite book that both girls got to experience during their time at this school was Stuck, by Oliver Jeffers... So, what makes Stuck so loved in our house?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Stuck is just plain fun! Written and illustrated by Oliver Jeffers, Stuck is the story of Floyd and his kite that gets stuck in a tree. Floyd spends the rest of the day trying to get his kite out of the tree, but nothing he tries works... Kids and adults alike root for Floyd and his kite, and we laugh at the absurdity of some of the things Floyd tries. A few times in the book, you think Floyd has finally come to his senses, but, alas... rather than climb that ladder he borrowed from a neighbor, he tosses it at the kite, too! In the end, Floyd uses a saw to save the day, but Jeffers throws a brilliant twist in this resolution as well.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Silly story aside, Jeffers wonderfully draws children into the story! The opening page begins, "It all began..." so we know from the first three words that we're in for an adventure! Jeffers handwrote the narrative for the story, giving it an endearing and childlike voice. The illustrations range from simple vignettes to full-page spreads, and they're bright, colorful, and also laugh-inducing. Jeffers also uses small speech bubbles here and there that always make my girls giggle.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Though I tend to share books with strong social-emotional messages or lessons, we love books that make us laugh, too, and this hits the spot! Stuck is silly, over-the-top, and one that you and your kids will both enjoy reading over and over again. Stuck is also on my 90booksfor90days picture book summer reading list, so scroll back to check that out if you missed it!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀If you liked this, check out:* Escargot by Slater* Du Iz Tak? by Ellis* Interrupting Chicken by Stein* Elephant and Piggie books by Willems

Such a disappointment compared to the paperback version
I love the paperpack version of “Stuck”, so I was excited to get the board book for my babies, but it was a let down. Somehow in the process of abridging it for the board book, all of the humor was lost. This is just a boring list of things being thrown into a tree, without the funny surprises that the original had. I’d recommend just getting the paperback and waiting until your kids are old enough to read it- this version seems pointless to me.

GREAT READ ALOUD
This is one of my favorite books for speech therapy. Great for /s/ blends, repetitive for child participation, and awesome for predicting/problem solving."What do you think he is going to do with the ladder?" "What would you have done with the ladder?" It also good for whole class lessons. I printed pictures of all the items the boy throws in the tree and each student gets to "throw" a different item into the tree as it happens in the book.

"Stuck" Promotes the Joy of Reading
I laughed when I read this. My husband laughed when I read it to him. My 4 1/2-year-old grandson giggled up a storm as we read it together. I would ask, "What do you think will happen next?" His enthusiastic reply: "I don't know. Turn the page!" When he recently came to visit, he found Stuck and immediately sat on the floor to read it himself. Nothing does my heart better than my grandchildren excited to read.

ha ha - what a thoughtful story!!
This book is already a "must read again" for my 5-year old son and he likes the "you're not going to believe this" style as each page turns over to the next outrageous attempt that Floyd makes hoping to get the last what-ever-it-was that got thrown up into the tree to get previous what-ever-it-was down. This was a birthday present and was the last-book-before-bed on birthday party night and the (spoiler alert) last few pages were quite inspiring for our boy's reflections about "getting everything cleaned up before bed-time". Great Fun!!!

silly but funny
This is kind of a sillly book but it made me and my almost 4 yo laugh. The kid throws stuff on the tree. Each item he throws is to unstuck the previous one but all get stuck. He manages to throw a whale, a firefighter and a mailman and a full house, lol. I found it funny but my husband found it silly. So depends on your sense of humor maybe? My son and myself liked it though!

I don't love this story and I agree with another reviewer that ...
My board book arrived damaged. Aside from that, the book is an abridged version of the original which doesn't really make sense. Overall, I don't love this story and I agree with another reviewer that it's wordy. It seems to go on forever and doesn't really resolve. Cute enough story to read in the library, but no need to own this one.

Absolutely hilarious and his best book by far - more like this one please!
I’ve bought several Jeffers books for my now 4 year old grandson and I love reading them with him. He can be a little serious, but this book made him start giggling from the beginning, leading to full-on laughing the more I read. He wanted me to read it again immediately, and seemed to find it even funnier the second time. He couldn’t seem to stop thinking and talking about all the things stuck in the tree and was very keen to tell his Mum later, laughing as he told her all about them. I’ve spent a fair amount of time with my grandson over the last four years, and I’ve never seen him react to a book or toy with such sheer joy.I normally rotate the several books I read to him, but today he greeted me at his house with: “Did you bring the ‘Stuck’ book because I want to read it every day forever?” Up to now his favourite funny books have been the ‘Dinosaurs in the Supermarket / School’, but his reaction to ‘Stuck’ has far exceeded those.Oliver Jeffers has written wonderful books, but I wish he would write at least one more as humorous as this one.

A nice little read for 2 or 3-year-olds
A nice little read for little ones. Bought it for my 5-year-old but it's probably more suited for 2 or 3-year-olds. He read it, enjoyed it and it's done. Attached are a couple of pages from the inside how it looks so that you can make an informed purchase decision if your kid would enjoy it or not.

Quirky story and illustrations to match. One of his best.
Oliver Jeffers is proving himself to be one of the most popular children's authors since the distinguished and ever-prominent Julia Donaldson. His construction of humourous stories will appeal to adult readers as much as his quirky drawings will appeal to little ones. This story is particularly quirky. It tells the story of a boy who gets his kite stuck in a tree and, in order to dislodge it, he throws up bigger and more elaborate things. Without giving away the story, let's just say a whale, some ladders and a neighbours house are involved. Definitely worth reading and treasuring.

Totally insane
Completely meaningless book for a child. This is like someone got high on weeds and wrote a book.Something gets stuck on a tree. To retrieve it you start throwing a house, a whale, firengines and what not to the tree and they all get stuck on the tree.Children needs to be taught stories that appeals to the intelligence and what they can relate to in the real world. Not something that murders the sense of space, proportion and sanity.

STUCK and sad about it
Changed my review....My 6 year old thought it was kinda funny but the font was awful to read, maybe it didn't make a difference to him but it did to me.... I am not STUCK with this book on my kindle as unknown to me it wasnt even included on the Unlimited! Was not worth the price!
