Great board at a reasonable price
Solid board, everything worked out of the box. Driver update tool that tries to install also tries to launch automatically run under every profile but requires admin credentials to do so, so I uninstalled that.

Reliable and Hassle-Free Choice! (IYKYK)
TBH, I picked this board mainly to pair with my Ryzen 5, and the build experience was better than expected. The biggest highlight has to be the integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It saved me from the hassle of running cables at home; the signal is rock solid, and it saved me the cost of an extra network cardโ10/10, worth it! The BIOS is super user-friendly, allowing even a beginner builder to easily set up XMP. No cap. Tbh, the port selection is kinda basic, but itโs def sufficient for daily use. The PCIe 4.0 support gives me peace of mind for future SSD upgrades. If your priority is stability, ease of use, and a no-fuss setup, this M-ATX board is a top-tier value pick among B550s. Highly recommended for stable performance-seekers like me! Goated board.

built in bluetooth 5 and wifi 6 at an affordable price
NOTICE: When installing the audio and network drivers, you may need to use the CD included since that is how the drivers were able to be successfully installed for those components. Downloading from the website did not work, and the CD installer will auto detect and mark what drivers are installed. Great motherboard particularly if you get it sub $90. It has BT 5+ and comes with WIFI6 chip and an antenna which works tremendous compared to my external Wifi 6 adapter. No USB-C and only one HDMI port along with older video ports, but the trade offs are that it comes with Bluetooth and Wifi 6. It does have PCIE4 x16 and (1)PCIE4 x4 m.2 along with a PCIE3 x4 m.2. Highly recommend it if you want a B550 chipset micro-atx board with built in bluetooth and wifi 6 modules.

Mine was defective but still rocks
I wanted to test this for a while before reviewing to make sure I didn't have any unexpected surprises. It has amazing features, GREAT capacity, both with storage and memory, especially from a Micro ATX board. The wifi seems pretty solid giving a consistant 500-800Mbps download speed on a shared gigabit connection, while the ethernet connection seems to pull a solid 900+Mbps speed. I am running on 2x8 3200 MHz speed CL16 memory but according to the official specs, it supports up to 128gigs (4x32 gig) and overclock speeds of up to 4866 MHz For storage, you have the options of 1 NVMe and 4 sata drives, or you can run two NVME and 2 Sata drives (installing a second NVMe drive typically disables two sata ports. The only real problem I have is mine came with a USB port with a short in it causing my power to instantly power off any time anything is plugged into the port. (I know this is a defect instead of design flaw because mine seems to be the only one with this problem and it did this from day one) Over all, very happy though and SUCH an upgrade from my last motherboard!

Budget board with rock-star VRMs, but lacks M.2 Heatsink...
//Apr 2026 Update// Since posting the original review, I upgraded to a Ryzen 9 5950X and an RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, paired with a Corsair CX650M 650W PSU to really push this board. The previous setup was much lighter. Power delivery has been excellent, the VRMs are still stellar, and the system has remained completely stable under the heavier load. I even added a second Samsung M.2. Zero regrets here. This thing flat-out delivers. //original post// Solid board with clean layout, reliable power delivery, and no nonsense in BIOS navigation. BIOS 3621 includes AGESA 1.2.0.E, but heads-up: - System Info shows a build date of Jan 13, 2025 - ASUS site lists release date as April 7, 2025 This isnโt a bugโitโs standard firmware practice. The BIOS was compiled in January, validated internally, and released publicly in April. If you're checking microcode or AGESA lineage, this timestamp mismatch might trip you up. Just know: - Microcode 0x10800014 = AGESA 1.2.0.E - No update needed unless ASUS drops a newer AGESA Powers a Ryzen 7 5700G, ASRock RX 6600XT, 64GB Crucial Pro CL22 RAM, and a Samsung M.2. I used an adapter for the 19-pin-to-E_USBC, but ended up going back to the 19-pin for the USB-A ports since I use those more in the front. My M4 Pro MacBook Pro powers the USB-C stuff now, so it's all good. The heatsink on the chipset is a nice touch, just wish a Frozr or something would have been on the M.2. But, in an NZXT H9 Flow non-RGB with a Thermaltake Peerless Assassin 120 SE v3 CPU cooler, this thing is definitely cooled. The motherboard sensor is a constant 22C until I start pushing some heavy Docker stuff, and even when I ran a few benchmarks, it barely went above 27, and this was a constant benchmark run, I expected it to hit 30 easy. It did not. That speaks to its VRMs and for that it gets 5-stars. I am incredibly pleased with the VRM performance and holding its own on heavy loads and benchmarking. I pushed it hard, it said, Nah, I'm cool. Ridiculous value. No Gen2 header, no Frozr or equivalent for the M.2, but those VRMs are legit. No regrets on this, it delivers in spades. This will last me to a Zen 7 upgrade without question.

NO WIFI FUNCTIONALITY
This is an otherwise good motherboard, but the reason for the one star rating is because mine came with no WiFi functionality whatsoever. There are several, maybe even dozens, of other reviews of this product saying something to the same effect. Someone else in these reviews by the name of Dan V. discussed the product in better detail on concerning the WiFi problem; I'm pretty sure you can find the one he made on April 7, 2025 if you look for it or search "wifi" in the reviews search tools. Apparently he did find a way to make the WiFi drivers work, but he was only able to do this by searching through Reddit for alternative drivers and literally ignoring the drivers Asus provides on their website for this specific motherboard. He decided to go with the MSI B550M-VC WIFI which he said did not suffer from the same issue and neither did anyone else in that model's reviews. Now, I'm as not adept at building PC's, so I was on the phone with Asus support for probably five hours total and at the end of it, they told me to fill out a lengthy return form so it can be "repaired"... except they charge you for the shipping which, for me, was around $20 for standard UPS ground. I decided to just return it through Amazon and hope to get a full return on it. I've used Asus products in the past and although they have excellent performance, an issue like this is unacceptable. I was even going to see if I could purchase a more recent Asus motherboard with WiFi capability, but lo and behold that one suffered negative reviews for the same reason! This motherboard is advertised as coming with WiFi capability, but if you use Windows 10/11 then you will be stuck with using an ethernet chord. I understand that it's only one problem and that everything else may perform amazingly, but if you're planning on having your PC in a room without an ethernet connection, you're done. This is false advertising and tremendously unfair to anyone who assumes that this unit's WiFi capability should work the way it's supposed to. I can guess that most of the positive reviews of this product are from customers who used an ethernet connection with this device and did not notice the WiFi problem if they were running Windows.

Fantastic Motherboard
Can't say enough about this product. I was very specific on my needs like bluetooth and WiFi and this had it all. Yes, it's not the latest tech as it is still PCIe 4.0 vs 5.0 that's all I needed: light gaming and a very strong workstation. Tried and true no crashing or hiccups. The Bios was the latest update so when I installed the CPU, Ryzen 7 5700g, it booted right up no updates needed. This fit the bill. The only catch is that once installed some drivers need updating like Bluetooth. I thought windows was strong enough to update but it wasn't however Ausu provided a cd that corrected the proper drivers and once done everything worked perfectly (luckily, I has an external cd player to use). Definitely recommended.

PRIME B550M-A WIFI II: Cheap decent AM4 wifi board
Know that this is a older AM4 board so some of the 5000 series CPU's may require you to need to update the BIOS which was easy with a thumb drive and downloading files online, there is a chart on ASUS website showing what bios versions work with what. My only critique is like many M-ATX boards, it only has two Chassis fan headers but that's easily fixed with a couple splitters and planning. The wifi driver seems fine as does the attenae ports. For $100ish CAD it's a decent grab for a price-concious build.
