Interesting lamp
My wife picked this out and I honestly didn’t know what it was for. Reminded me of the little UV light security would use on ID badges. Reading up on it and I understand what it’s uses are now. The lamp is well built and the magnification lens is good. The light output it bright and can bring interesting results. We’ve mostly used it for novelty purposes as it is a cool UV light to look at objects. The design is odd yet distinct with the ears on it. As most devices it is USB powered. We haven’t had any quality issues to report. I do recommend it, the price seems a little high but I don’t find it outrageous..

The light doesn't work
The magnifying glass works but the light will not work. It's a waste. I'd rate it zero if I could.

Was expecting a little better.
These lamps were designed to detect various diseases, but they can also detect counterfeit currency, urine, other bodily fluids, and just about anything that glows under a UV light. The six LEDs that surround the lens are fairly bright and easily light up an area for purposes of viewing UV reactive items. I have not used the lamp much, and I’ve already had one LED which will not light up.There is not a lot of magnification, but for most purposes, a lot of magnification is not needed with one of these devices.Cord is 4 ½ feet long with a switch in the middle of the cord. The switch is about 2 feet from the lamp and 2 ½ feet from the USB plug. The switch is a simple push button switch that turns the lights on or off. It is a little inconvenient having to find the switch to turn it on as opposed to having a switch on the handle. The seller’s page says that the fact that it is powered by a 5-volt USB cord makes it more secure. I’m not sure whether that is because the lamp is attached to a 5-volt USB port or whether it’s because no one is going to want to steal a Woods lamp that has to be attached to a 5-volt USB port. Needing a USB port is limiting to the extent that you will always have to have a port to view things under UV light. At the same time, USB adapters are plenteous, so that should not be much of a problem.Having said that, many Wood’s lamps are corded, and this provides more power; however, I do not think 5-volts is going to generate a lot of power and the same power could have probably been achieved with a battery-operated lamp.Overall, I am not very impressed with the quality, especially given that it is already starting to show signs of not working properly. Three stars is the best I could do.

Better than expected
I didn't really have high expectations for this because it was a very reasonable price and didn't look super impressive but I'm actually impressed with the overall performance of this Wood's lamp. This makes a good and inexpensive substitute for the real deal and the magnifying glass is just the right amount of magnification. There were only two things I didn't like:1. The cat ears at the top... not sure what those are there for but they just make it look less professional2. The USB plug instead of a traditional wall plug; I had to use an old brick from an iPhone I had laying around. This still gets the job done and for a very small price so I'd recommend giving it a try.

Pretty good lamp. Works great.
The handle of the lamp is easy to hold and the light itself works very good. The price listed is a good value for how well the lamp works. It's pretty bright and allows you to see very well.

Cheap Cheap version of a Woods lamp!
The first negative impression for me was that it is not rechargeable and it needs to be plugged into a USB port that supports 5 volts which for most households will not be a problem. The cord is about 4 and a half feet long and too short in my opinion especially since it needs to be plugged into the USB port for use. This is not worth the price you pay and the cat ears make it look unprofessional and doesn't make me feel like I can take its results seriously. A woods lamp emits black light which is ultraviolet and can't be seen by the human eye, it also emits a small amount of light on the ultraviolet spectrum and this can be seen by the human eye when the UV light shines on skin or other surfaces, cells glow or turn colors. Woods lamps can show fungal, bacterial, and parasitic infections, skin damage, etc. The lamp can also detect counterfeit money and certain counterfeit documents. In my opinion, this is basically a magnifying glass with light. No instructions are included on how to use the lamp, I will continue to learn more about how to use this particular Woods lamp and update my review in the near future.
