Jas to comfirm, it will do gas mig welding, i just need my own gas supply correct?

No regulator supplied, if you are going to do short arc mig then use C25 (75/25) gas. Plenty of the inert gas regulators sold on Amazon, a flow guage will work also if desired.

What is the max thickness of metals it can weld?

It works well on 1/8'', also good weld on 1/4 inch steel with a 3/32 6011. Still not tested TIg fuction yet.
