This is not the right tool for that job. This stuff is intended to insulate electrical cables by sticking to itself, not other surfaces. If it does work, it will probably look terrible. Why not just use clear silicone caulk?

Q: what is the PSI rating on this tape?

- When you wrap this product CORRECTLY, which is by wrapping in OVERLAPPING WRAPS, this product will contain 900 psi. Documented and proven. It's U.L. Listed. - Those who say it won't hold a garden hose aren't wrapping it correctly. Duh.

Q: Will this fix the vacuum hose on my freeze dryer?

I'd doubt if it would work. It's not a real strong bond for something like that.

Q: The end of the tape still seems not to have bonded with the under-wrap. Will hot air help the end to fuse with the tape under it?

Two things make this tape stick: pressure & stretch. It won't stick to itself unless you stretch it and pull it around the object you're wrapping. Hold with pressure for several seconds. It permanently fuses to itself in minutes.
