Prehistoric dinosaurs living creatures fun and a learing experience
This is the 2023 version of sea monkeys. I enjoyed giving this to our grandson as a great learning gift which is fun for adults and children alike. Learning toys are always valued in our family and for our young scientist this was right uo his alley. Shipping was fast and the present was exactly what he wanted. Great buy and great priced thank you

Thought I was buying triops, just got more sea monkeys — waste of time and money
The little tank it came with was just the right size and dimensions, the included sand was a pleasant surprise as it was just the right amount and a good grain size for these animals, AND the eggs all hatched quickly — but they were entirely the wrong animal! This kit advertises itself as containing triops or tadpole shrimp, but the included eggs are for artemia brine shrimp, better known as sea monkeys, which is INCREDIBLY disappointing as the entire reason I chose this kit over a few other triops kits was because the size and shape of the habitat provided lends itself very well to the bottom-feeding habits of triops and the need to totally dry out their substrate in between generations, rather than more active filter feeders like artemia who benefit from a larger and stable volume of water. the low and wide shape means constant water loss from evaporation, and with the addition of saltwater, it means that EVERYTHING in the vicinity of your tank will be covered in salt creep and potentially ruined by corrosion and rust if there are any metal components nearby. sure, the enclosure can be emptied and reused, but I’m pretty bummed out as the included sand from the kit will have to be trashed due to the high levels of salt that could kill any future triops and their eggs without thorough rinsing — and by that point, it’s far more effort than it’s worth just to save a handful of sand.I’m incredibly disappointed as this kit absolutely did contain triops eggs in the past, so clearly a substitution was made (for what reason? who knows) without even bothering to remove the triops photos from the box, which on top of being false advertising is just plain lazy.If you don’t particularly care about what kind of animal you’re hatching, the kit is okay I suppose — I really think artemia are better suited to vertical containers rather than a flat tray like this one, but they’re hatching and growing well regardless so it seems to work alright. If you actually want triops, though, this kit really isn’t even worth bothering with — just buy something else.

They actually grew!
I honestly thought this wasn’t going to work but it did!! However it does say 5 mins set up but it isn’t 5 mins if you don’t have DISTILLED WATER!!! You have to have distilled water in order for them to grow. The way I distilled water was let some water boil and let it cool down to the 80 degree mark that was written in the instructions. They are something that needs to be maintained everyday meaning by adding water because the water evaporates from the heat lamp and making sure your cleaning the water by scooping out the top layer for the shrimps so they do not get sick. But they are looking amazing!! If you won’t be able to check on them everyday and maintain everyday it may not be the best choice to get the item

Good Product! Be wary of the image on the box!
The media could not be loaded. This isn’t a bad product but please do be careful if you are specifically wanting triops. The image on the box is of triops but what you get is brine shrimp, which is a bit false advertising but they are still very interesting to grow and raise. The instructions are easy to follow and mine have hatched and are doing just fine! I think brine shrimp are interesting and still fun to watch, and if you are fine with brine shrimp, do the research, and follow the instructions, it’s a good kit to get!The video is of my brine shrimp on their 2nd day! I’m still fascinated with them, and they are clearly thriving! I am a little disappointed that the box uses the wrong image but I’m happy that the eggs at least hatched.
