I bought the Xplora XGO 3 for my 9 year-old and it’s been a fantastic introduction to tech. The setup took a little patience, but once everything was up and running, it’s worked really well. I love the GPS tracking and safe zone alerts, it gives me peace of mind when my child is out with friends or at school. The ability to call and message approved contacts is a huge plus, and the step counter adds a fun way to encourage activity. Battery life is decent it lasts about 1-2 days depending on usage. Build quality is solid, and the watch has handled some rough play with no issues. Highly recommend for parents looking to stay connected with younger kids without handing them a smartphone.

It's great if your kids roam around the streets and you know how far they can go without the worry of them being taken. But for me. 300 meter minimum is an area far to great for a safety zone for my daughter who plays just around the block. Someoke could take her and be far to gone before I would even get notified and then it states its not in real time and there could be a delay. Reception is shocking indoors too. Could call from the phone. But nothing on the watch. Messages were ok. But I like to call. Sending back. Won't bother. Just wish Currys had them in stock to try out before wasting my time.

My daughter loves this watch, she's 9. First I found it so easy to set-up, the screen is very responsive which is hard to find on a small device. Swipe across and you find all the apps. So simple to actually use. The sim card slot was easy to find and install. The battery is incredibe. 100% charged on Wednesday still going strong until Friday night. With multiple calls/messages during the day. The app let you send and receive messages, emoji and pictures which my daughter loves sending me to show me what she's upto. And loved seeing the boring things I were doing. It's so easy to navigate that even the most technophobe person would be able to use it. It also let's you pre program numbers so you don't have to worry that they are talking to someone they don't know or shouldn't be. You also get a notification if they get a call or the ring someone. The GPS tracker shows exactly where she was which was fantastic for my peace of mind. There is school times where the watch becomes just a watch but it doesn't have to be set for a solid 6 hours eg, 9-3. You can do a few eg, 9-12 and 1-3 which is what I use just so she can ring me or ask something it's perfect. I think it's a must for a child who needs more independence and for a parent who knows they need to give them independence but still worries. I can't actually think of one negative thing to say about it.

I bought this watch with the sim card so that it would be easy to set up and get working as it wasn't clear if I bought my own sim card if it would work or not... so box came with no instructions on how to sign up for the sim card subscription, went around the houses for days in emails to Xplora customer service, on day 3 someone sent a link to choose the subscription and sign up for it - why did this not come with the watch?? Tried to sign up, it wanted the IMEA number from the box, this was hidden under another sticker, when I inputted all the details, it said there was a problem with the number. Currently waiting for Xplora to reply, they said they would have to get back to me... in the meantime I have paid for a Lebra sim card which will arrive tomorrow... cheaper than the sim card subscription from Xplora anyway. So I should have done this in the first place but thought I would pay a bit more for convenience. My 11yr old is happy with the watch, so far she has only be able to use it on the wifi in our house, but sends me messages and likes how easy it is to use the stop watch, clock and change the screen picture. I wanted this option for her to be able to contact us without having a mobile phone. I have tried the watch with my sim card and it works well, the sounds level of the calls is good and the picture quality seems ok for something this size. We were a little dubious about getting this because the reviews aren't amazing, but we really have been very impressed with this watch. The product itself is a very good design and simple to use. It feels robust. The location accuracy is good. It has perhaps been slightly slow to update the location now and then, but in the main it's reliable. You must use the Xplora app on your own phone to message the watch; NOT your nornal messaging client. That's a minor downside, but perhaps that's how it has to work to stop the child from receiving unwanted texts. You can however ring the watch from your usual phone call app. The watch can also only send pre-selected texts which is another minor gripe. It would probably score a little higher if the sign up process was smoother and the customer support better. It does feel a little rough around the edges. But overall the developers should be highly commended for producing a fantastic product. If your kid is under the age of 10 or 11 definitely consider buying this.

My little girl is 6 and absolutely loves the fact she can ring mum and dad. The camera is so clear. I can always know we're she is due to the GPS location tracker. Great battery life amazing for the money. Very child friendly. So easy to use. Little games on there also. Over the moon with this watch and would recommend to anyone. Comes in many colours we got the blue.

Utterly useless customer service. Robot chat and never answer back. Human chat available for a few hours in the middle of the day. No possibility of speaking to anyone. Terribly unintuitive set up. If you still feel like you want to buy one, don’t order one without a SIM card. Took two weeks to receive, needs to be their own sim or you get penalised and have to pay them 100sek per week to use another. SIM card finally arrived but not possible to use the messages as only I can receive them, my wife is unable to set up an account for her. Garbage. Utter garbage. Amazon on the other hand were fantastic and replaced a watch that was broken almost immediately and without charge or question.

Update: The company sent me a new watch with a SIM that they promised would work. Indeed, it did work! I really like this watch for my 7 year old son. The GPS seems to be accurate, it has an alarm that he uses every morning to wakeup with, I put it on school mode, and he's able to receive texts from me through the app, and phone calls from anyone I put on the contacts list. The only thing I have not tried out yet is adding the app to my husbands' phone so he can also text. Assuming that will work but we'll see. Otherwise, great connection, you can hear the person on the call easily without having to hold the watch up to his face (some other watches we tried had that issue). Overall, great watch once you get one with the SIM working properly! Could never get the watch to work properly. Set it up and couldn't make calls. Did a few adjustments and restarts and it made a call and seemed to work for about a day and then started giving a "No SIM" error. Worked with customer service back and forth for 10 days (they only have email so it would take a day before I would hear from them and be able to try what they suggest to fix it) and finally got it working again. It worked for 1 day and then started giving a different error and wouldn't make calls again. I gave up and returned.

This is our second watch from Xplora. We highly recommend this product and have inspired multiple people to buy one for their child. It is the perfect thing to have prior to moving to a cell phone for your kid who is pre-teen age. We have given to our children at their 10th birthdays. One thing to note is it is difficult to find a cell plan that is affordable when you need very little data etc. we have used Fido and it is a less than $20/month plan.

Ho acquistato lo smartwatch per mio figlio x motivi di sicurezza e reperibilità, è un buon prodotto che funziona con una SIM (sembra più compatibile con Wind) , si possono memorizzare i numeri più importanti x effettuare e ricevere chiamate e videochiamate, sms e altre funzioni...ha il GPS per monitorare la posizione tramite l' app. Nella scatola sono inclusi cavo di ricarica e istruzioni. Lo consiglio a tutti i genitori, x esempio da usare quando il bambino è in gita o ambienti di confusione in cui ci sono molte persone, si può contattare facilmente e tenere sotto controllo.

Nachdem wir bereits seit 1,5 Jahren mit der XGO2 für unseren 9-Jährigen gute Erfahrungen gemacht haben, konnten wir nun auch mit der XGO3 für unsere 6-Jährige unsere Erfahrungen machen. Pünktlich geliefert, fiel mir direkt die Verpackung auf: hochwertig und völlig plastikfrei...absolut zeitgerecht. Alles säuberlich ausgepackt, zuvor bestellte SIM-Karte nach Anleitung eingelegt und gestartet. Da wir bereits die XPlora-App auf den Handys und ein Kundenkonto hatten , war die Integration der XGO3 in die App über den QR-Code problemlos. Die Uhr ins häusliche WLan-Netz angemeldet und Update heruntergeladen - fertig. Zur XGO2 ist die XGO3 zwar etwas "schnittiger" und weniger "klobig", aber immer noch ziemlich dick am zarten Handgelenk unserer Tochter. Dies stört sie aber absolut gar nicht und sie trägt die Uhr sehr gerne mit dem angenehm weichen Silikonarmband. Die Bedienung der Uhr über den Touchscreen ist (fast) selbsterklärend und für Kinder bedienerfreundlich, vllt. ist anfangs etwas Anleitung durch die Eltern erforderlich. Ich habe den Eindruck gehabt, dass der Touchscreen der XGO2 etwas zuverlässiger die Befehle annimmt als das der XGO3, läuft aber insgesamt flüssig. Für den Home-Bildschirm stehen verschiedene Designs zur Auswahl, für Jungen und Mädchen etwas dabei. Ebenso stehen verschiedene Klingeltöne zur Auswahl. Außderem ist bereits eine Displayschutzfolie fein säuberlich aufgeklebt. Da die Uhr nur Telefonate mit über die App zuvor eingespeicherten Kontakten führen kann (sowohl selber anrufen als auch angerufen werden), müssen halt erst die Kontakte, mit denen das Kind Gespräche führen darf, über die App auf dem Handy eingespeichert werden. Dies ist problemlos und gibt ein sicheres Gefühl. Anrufe annehmen und selber jemanden anrufen klappt mit der Uhr gut und ist schnell dem Kind erklärt. Auch die Sprachqualität empfand ich als recht gut. Außerdem erhält man auf dem Handy eine Nachricht, wenn ein Anruf mit der Uhr getätigt wurde oder die Uhr angerufen wurde...auch bei Anrufen, welche nicht in der Kontaktliste eingespeichert sind. Diese Anrufe dringen jedoch nicht bis zur Uhr durch bzw. gehen nicht von der Uhr raus. Ansonsten kann mit der Uhr nicht nur telefoniert werden, sondern auch Nachrichten (Sprach- oder Tippnachrichten) an die Eltern-App geschickt werden, entweder selbst getippt, vorgegebene Textbausteine oder Emojis, oder bis zu 15-sekunden Sprachnachrichten. Außerdem können Fotos mit der Uhr gemacht werden und ebenfalls an die App verschickt werden und umgekehrt. Die Ortungsfunktion ist (vielleicht je nach Netzanbieter und Empfang der Uhr) nicht immer punktgenau, aber zur ungefähren Ortung und zum Verlaufstracking einigermaßen geeignet. Ich kann auf jeden Fall erkennen, ob meine Tochter zB. nach der Schule auf dem Weg nach Hause ist und pünktlich sein wird, damit ich zur Arbeit kann. Zudem kann eine "Sicherheitszone" auf der Karte in der App eingegeben werden. Sobald die Uhr diese Zone verlässt oder wieder in diese eintritt, wird eine Nachricht an die Eltern-App gesendet. Kann aber alles in den Einstellungen der App nach persönlichen Vorlieben eingestellt werden. Der Schrittzähler ist fast jeden Abend ein kleines Highlight für das Kind und tlw. "battlen" wir uns, wer an dem Tag die meisten Schritte getan hat. Außerdem werden Medaillen und "Coins" mit den Schritten gesammelt, mit denen man Prämien erhalten kann. Diese sind in der App abrufbar und online einlösbar. Hatten bei den Prämien bislang aber leider kein Glück, da auf diese mit den Coins geboten werden muss und der Höchstbietende die Prämie erhält. Zumindest habe ich es bislang nicht anders kennengelernt. Im Schulmodus kann eingestellt werden, an welchen Tagen zwischen welchen Uhrzeiten die Uhr stumm gestellt ist, nicht zu bedienen ist und nicht zu erreichen ist. Lediglich die Uhrzeit wird angezeigt. Trotzdem besteht die Schule bei uns darauf, "Smartwatches" während des Unterrichts nicht am Handgelenk zu tragen. Sonstige Funktionen wie Stoppuhr, Alarm, Taschenrechner, Bluetooth sind vorhanden und funktionieren problemlos. Geladen wird die Uhr über USB-Kabel auf der Rückseite. Die Buchse ist mit einem Gummideckel wasserdicht verschlossen, allerdings finde ich es für zarte Kinderfinger etwas schwierig, den Gummideckel wieder richtig fest auf die Buchse zu drücken. Natürlich sind weitere Einstellungen der Uhr wie Displayhelligkeit, Lautstärke, Datenroaming, Sprache, und so weiter einzustellen. Eine Taschenlampe wie bei der XGO2 ist nicht vorhanden. Insgesamt finde ich die Uhr sehr anwenderfreundlich sowohl für Eltern als auch für das Kind. Die volle Kontrolle über die Uhr hat man über die Handy-App, jedoch bemerkt das Kind je nach Einstellung natürlich davon nichts. Sie gibt sowohl dem Kind Sicherheit, "mal eben" anrufen zu können, als auch uns Eltern, und damit meine ich nicht als Hauptgrund die Trackingfunktion, sondern vielmehr die Möglichkeit, mit dem Kind telefonisch in Kontakt treten zu können. Außerdem macht die Uhr einfach Spaß mit ihren Möglichkeiten...ganz ohne Spiele-Schnickschnack, wie es andere Kinderuhren haben. Bei Problemen oder Fragen zur Uhr steht ein Support von Explora zur Verfügung, welcher zeitnah und zuverlässig Rückmeldung gibt und dem Nutzer zur Seite steht. Dies klappt ausgesprochen gut und ich habe damit bisher nur positive Erfahrungen gemacht. Jedoch habe ich zum Ende noch eine kleinere Anmerkung zu machen, wo ich bisher nicht hinter gekommen ist, und auch der Support auf die Schnelle keine Antwort drauf hatte, wieso dies so ist: in unregelmäßigen Abständen gibt die Uhr über das Display Fehlermeldungen raus, mal mehrmals am Tag, mal tagelang nichts, welche nach 2 Sekunden wieder vom Display verschwinden: zum einen "Warning: Dial failed" und zum anderen "Warning: Overtime return". Dadurch wurde allerdings die Funktion der gesamten Uhr bisher nicht merklich beeinträchtigt. Ein Zurücksetzen der Uhr hat leider auch keine Abhilfe geschaffen. Ist halt nur etwas nervig, wenn ab und an das Display aus dem Ruhemodus aufhellt und eine der Meldungen aufzeigt.
