Clamp 8" X 8"

Very useful in guitar building and repair. Great price. Recommend!
The cork helps them to not leave a mark. The throat is deep, so you can get the pressure where you need it. And the clamping is quick and easy. Other clamps can assert more clamping force, but that is not what these are for in my usage. Super handy, great to have around.

Does the job, but a little pricey
While somewhat pricey, this clamp has met my needs. Specifically, I've been looking for a lighter clamp with a deep "throat". Nowhere have I found any metal clamps with as much depth as this hardwood cam variety. The cam arm can be a problem if the nose of the clamp is flat against a surface when you try to tighten it, but otherwise no problem.I've used this clamp to secure stop blocks on a high table saw fence - the light weight avoids having the clamp tilt the fence and it easily clears any normal fence. It doesn't have the massive clamping force of, say, a Bessey bar clamp, but it is far lighter. It turns out that you can hold small work pieces in the tips of the jaws, then clamp the whole assembly in a vise. One negative that surprised me - the glue on the cork pads is inferior. The other possible negative is cost - I bought a second, almost identical looking clamp at Rockler's for less than $10 on sale. No doubt a Chinese knockoff. It seems to function more or less the same, but I suspect the wood is weaker than the German-made one. However, that clamp had at least one defect, namely, the glue on the cork pads. After cleaning off some wax with mineral spirits, the cork pads started sliding around all over the place.

they are ok
a little disappointed in the pressure applied by these cam clamps. I have purchased several other brands that are cheaper and seem to work better for me.

Insufficient clamping pressure
I thought because these were German they would be higher quality. Boy was I wrong. I am rating one star because I am unable to get sufficient clamping pressure at all. They fail to do the job. As a test I tried many times to clamp these to my workbench as tight as I could. I always had to move the lever all the way to get any pressure. No matter what I tried I could easily pull the clamp off the bench after clamping as much as I could. I tried different approaches and nothing worked. I have some other wooden cam clamps made in China and they work way better. (although 4" instead of 8"). They clamp down snugly by the time you move the lever 25%. The Chinese ones even have a light finish.
