L-Leucine arrived on time and in tact. No odor or smell upon opening the bag. The product does not have a flavor. I’ve been adding it and creatine (also from Bulk Supp) to my Hydration drink. It does not dissolve fully, but not an issue for me. I just shake well before taking each sip. I may try it in my iced coffee. I’ve only been drinking it for 2 days, but will report back with results. No gas, no stomach upset. Updated (1 Week): Still no side effects or gastrointestinal issues. Progressive load and endurance in gym is much improved. Increased muscle pump (glutes/hams/quads). Since this product Does not fully dissolve in cold, warm or hot liquids I would suggest adding to a smaller quantity of fluid, and drinking all at once. I currently had been mixing w/hydration or Xtend EAA and sipping throughout the day, but by the end of day, product is at the bottom of vessel. I added to my hot coffee, product did not dissolve, floated to top, but also added a ‘peanut like’ flavor to coffee. Going forward I am only going to mix with 4oz Hydration fluid and drink at once. I’ll still leave 5 stars because supplements just simply have nuances and we just have to figure out what route & dose is best for us.

I bought the powder because I tend to mix/add extra amino acids into my drinks and wanted to include some additional Leucine Powder. It is pure and clean, just like advertised, no fillers or flavors. If you are not use to using an unflavored powder, it tends to have a bitter flavor and you need to mix it with something; flavor packs, other drink mixes,... I add mine into a pre/intra protein shake or a first thing in the morning shake. Pro: Product is a very fine powder, I have had no problems mixing it with my current drinks and it does not effect the flavor of them. Packaging is a heavy duty zippie type bag, takes up little room on the shelf, however on occasion I have issues getting it to seal shut but not that often. Price is very reasonable for the quantity purchased. Con: no scooper - this can be an issue for some but I just placed a left over one from another product in the bag, no problem. So far a good product, I am very satisfied with and plan on making future purchases.

I read that taking leucine prior to a fasted workout reduces muscle loss while allowing the desired fat burn. I assume it works, but have no evidence to support or refute that claim, so my review is not on the effectiveness of the product, but other qualities of this purchase. I tried it this morning, and as other reviewers said, the taste is pretty bad, but tolerable (as I assume all leucine powder is). I just drank it in water. It mixed OK. A flavored 0-calorie beverage may mask the taste better, but I'll probably stick with water. It's a very fine powder so was hard to avoid puffs of air blowing it around a bit. Again, I assume this is normal of pure leucine. The packaging is simple and seems it will last through the use. It doesn't come with a measuring spoon so I used one from something else I had and hopefully it was the right dose. That's no big issue since I always end up with extra scoops of all sizes from other products I've used and it keeps the packaging flat and the prices low. I also like the concept of BulkSupplements providing pure individual supplements vs branded, marketed, and over priced combinations. As I believe other BulkSupplements reviewers have mentioned a few times, the company sent me an email after my purchase and offered to send me something else for free if I agreed to give it a fair review. I thought that was pretty cool (and probably explains why there are so many reviews) and since they didn't directly try to coerce me for a good review, I don't fault them for this form of marketing. In any case, I'm trying something else from them so stay tuned for that review after I get it.

This is for pure Leucine powder. This is the most effective of the three amino acids found in the typical BCAA supplements. I figured why not just get the one I need and not pay for the other two that I don’t care about (Iso-leucine and valine). The price is certainly affordable. It is nice that there is no filler. The packaging is what is really key here. It does not take up too much space and the material, particularly the “zip-lock” type seal are really high quality. The taste is not too bad. You have to go into it knowing that it is not koolaid so its not going to taste like candy. But it is certainly drinkable in water. It dissolves okay as well. These are two key points were I saw complaints before and I have not found any problems. I think this is perfect for someone who wants to train with weights in a “fasted state”. Mixes okay and no digestion problems.

This product is falsely advertised unflavored. It actually has horrible flavor that is bitter and sour and unable to mix with anything in order to mix so the flavor can be masked. But the product is total fail as far as flavor. I contacted customer service for bulk supplements. Sadly is also was a fail, because they only give partial refunds even though the product quality is there issue. And they will not cover shipping costs. I copy and pasted out dialogue hoping they change their policy for returns and take more responsibility for their business. The issue is a quality issue pertaining to your L-leucine powder that is described as unflavored. It def has repulsive bitter to sour flavor. It cannot mix anything to help mask as it is hard to swallow. I would like refund or be sent a new product to replace it. Seems to be a the real deal at a decent price, but the mixability it absolutely terrible. I'm not sure if it is this product or just leucine in general, but it literally will not mix. I've never had this problem with other BCAAs and their other products I have tried mix fine. If it's just the nature of the pure leucine (which is what I suspect others will say), than I would say buying this is just not worth it unless you plan to put it in smoothies or something. Also, as I mentioned in another review regarding the creatine (which mixes fine btw), there are two minor drawbacks: the packaging is pretty awful and that it would be worth it to add a cheap plastic scooper for the like 2 cents it will cost to manufacture them in bulk. The zipper on the package is poor quality and difficult to close. The bags themselves are also poorly designed and difficult to access, I don't understand why/who thought of making the bag tall and thin??? This makes it very troublesome and messy to use the bags so I had to end up pouring some in an old creatine container. Add a scoop and redesign the bag to be wider and shorter, with a better zipper/latch. Simple fix.

This is a high quality supplement and serves its purpose well. It can be added to whatever you want, but is not completely soluble. I would not recommend trying with just water, the after taste can kill. When I tried this the first time, I had it with just water. Big mistake, 15 minutes later after drinking a liter of water and brushing my teeth for a couple minutes I still couldn't get the taste out of my mouth. If you are using the leucine for fasted training I would recommend doing some research on zero calorie drinks that you think might improve the taste. I personally have been using vitamin water zero, solely because they didn't have anything better at whole foods. It masks the taste pretty well and uses stevia and not artificial sweeteners. I also recommend using ice to cool the drink down and make it taste better. I'll leave the research up to you because it depends on personal preference, but it is necessary to take this with something. All comments on taste aside, this supplement serves it's purpose and is a quality addition to any fasted training regimen.

It's pure and clean 100 percent No added flavours colours preservatives. That's a good bit. It doesn't dissolve properly in water and I found that the water taste slightly putrid. However, I'm glad it doesn't have flavours to enhance that taste. I add a teaspoon to a strong cup of coffee. Add the hot water and stir for 30 seconds and it does dissolve. It doesn't really dissolve very well in hot water, but it does dissolve if you stir and press the little floaties up against the edge of the cup and I add a quarter of a teaspoon of honey cuz I normally have coffee with no sugar. I don't eat sugar but I have some honey so I'll put a quarter of a teaspoon of honey in with my coffee and Mickey mouse. Get all the benefits of of this protein. 100% pure five stars
