Q: Help! My window width is just slightly less than 35”. If I want the top mount thing to be inside the window (versus over), what size do you recommend?

use 34.625" or 34 & 5/8" to get a proper fit into a window width of 35"

Q: Can you remove slates if it's too long?

Unfortunately, any alteration to the blind will void the warranty.

Q: How much light does a block out?

These blinds provide privacy when closed but they are light filtering, not light blocking. You cannot see through them when they are closed, but at night you will still have shadows and silhouettes when standing next to the blind with the indoor light on.

Q: When setting up in the outside configuration does it come with end caps for the main mechanical part?

Yes, this product will come with a decorative crown valance with side returns. That will cover the top head rail portion of the blind.
