Tapo for the win
I recently installed the Tapo Smart Light Switch, and I couldn’t be more pleased with it. This smart switch has truly transformed my home lighting experience.First off, the setup was a breeze. The Tapo Smart Light Switch comes with clear instructions, and the entire installation process was straightforward. It connected to my Wi-Fi network effortlessly and synced with the Tapo app without any hiccups. The app itself is user-friendly, making it easy to control the switch remotely and set schedules. The value for money is outstanding. For a relatively affordable price, you get a smart switch that offers reliable performance and a range of features. The ability to control my lights from anywhere, schedule them, and even use voice commands with smart assistants makes this switch a fantastic addition to my home. One thing to note is that you’ll need a neutral wire for installation, which is common for smart switches. Also, depending on your setup, you may need a control module if you’re integrating it with existing systems. However, the benefits of having a smart, controllable light switch far outweigh these minor considerations. In summary, the Tapo Smart Light Switch is an excellent investment. It’s easy to set up, offers great value for money, and provides enhanced control over your home lighting. If you’re looking to upgrade to smart home technology, this switch is a fantastic choice. Plus, Amazon’s efficient service made the purchase process smooth and hassle-free.

Good product and easy to install.
As described it was easy to install and it worked like a charm. I had to change the box because it does not fit in the the thin box as well I had to break a bit of the box back to make room for the cable to fit under the connector. After that it fit ok. Unfortunately although they provide two types of screw but both did not fit they were short and thinner. I had to use the old screws that was in the old switch, not major problem. I can even control the switch from outside the house. This is a good security function specifically when you are away at night you can switch the light on or off.

Useful switch
My house wiring is the old type, no neutral wire, so this switch is just what I needed. And it works with Alexa which gives me the control as well. I have a room with 3 doors but only 2 switches so with this switch I can just tell Alexa to turn on/off the lights. No more walks across the room in the dark. Now for some gotchas you need to be aware off.First and the biggest, is that the back of the switch is deep, see the photo. It's 25mm deep which means that you will probably need to replace the back box as there isn't enough room for the switch and wires. I replaced my 15mm back box with a 47mm deep box. This means it's not a 5 minute job to replace the switch. The other negative is the screws used to clamp the wires are rubbish. It's hard to tighten the screws as the head doesn't fit crosshead or flat screwdrivers very wellOn the up side the device pairs easily and quickly to the Tapo hub and works well with Alexa.

To save energy and make smart without replacing the bulbs
To save energy, I am looking for the smart switches to avoid forgeting to turn off my lightings when I leave. Searching online for a long time and very glad to see the TP-Link Tapo is extending their smart home product family. I am using Tapo plugs and cameras. It is reliable and easy to use. So I bought this one to have a try. After one week usage, I can leave the comments here:Pros: easy to install with no neutral wire required so I just need to install it as a normal switch; real smart to include the remote control, voice control, schedule (which is really what I need); an unifyed smart home system - I learned from TP-Link website about the 'smart action' to control all my Tapos together; battery included and able to be replacement looks a safe design.Cons: I need to buy a hub Tapo H100 (DON'T FORGET IT); it costs but fair to try more sensors to have one HUB only; smart action is not easy to understand, you need to learn more from their web or ask their tech support.

Amazing smart light switch
I saw a one-star review where someone was saying they couldn't get this wired in. It's because it's NOT a 2-way switch and they didn't do their homework. Meaning, if you can control your light from more than one light switch, this is NOT compatible. 2 gang means 2 switches. 2-way means compatible with lights which can be turned on and off from 2 locations. So 2-gang 1-way is perfect for the likes of a living room for say, a ceiling light, and uplighters. For me that's the case in two rooms. You might have a kitchen with one switch for the ceiling light and another for downlighters. If you have two switches for the same light then this will not work.I have a few single and dual gang versions of these around the house and the next ones I buy will be for the kids' bedrooms.PRO TIP! If you have Tapo bulbs in your lamp fittings, you can set it up so that your light switch will turn on / off your ceiling light and your lamps at the same time. In my scenario I have a double gang Tapo smart switch in my living room. One is for the ceiling light only. One is for the uplighters. I programmed the one which controls the uplighters to also turn on the bulbs in the lamps around the room. So either I tell Alexa to turn on the uplighters or simply press the button, and hey presto, nice and gentle lighting all around the room - perfect! While I find that TP-Links wifi routers are terrible, their smart home devices are superb. I'm going through the slow transition of making the switch away from plugs and bulbs on Chinese brands using "Smartlife" and going fully TP-Link for ease of use and compatibility.Biggest cons for me would be the depth these units require but in most cases you can work around it with a space exander as many others have done and taken a photo of on these reviews. And the other con would unfortunately it doesn't look like a 2-way switch will be on the way any time soon, if ever, which is a real shame. I'd also love a 4-gang switch but alas, I don't foresee that happening either.
