This is an excellent product compared to the other brand that are sold at national home improvement stores. They are a little more expensive but the quality is 1000% better and the light is more white (which I like).I purchased 3 lighted wall plates that were a different brand at a home improvement store. They all had inconsistent quality; one was very bright, the other was very dim, and one shorted out about 10 minutes after installation. I like the idea of the lighted wall plate so I searched Amazon to see what I could find that wasn't the horrible brand that I purchased before. And I found this SnapPower brand. Installation was super easy. The amount of light output is the same for both and the whiter light looks more sophisticated. I will definitely be purchasing more of these down the road.

I placed these in a 2nd floor hallway. My son finds them very cool, and thinks they are neat. My wife finds the not-overpowering amount of light pleasant in the dark evenings when she has to walk in that area but doesn't want the full brunt of our bright overhead lights.Installation was a "snap" -- though I'm skilled in general home repair, none of my skills were necessary to simply remove 2 cover plate screws, snap on the light, and replace the 2 screws. Anyone can do it.The lights turn on when the sensor thinks it's dark, and off when there is more light present. Though one of our outlets is in a dark area of the hallway where little sunlight actually penetrates, so even during the day the lights are on. It would be nice if the sensor was tuned better. Hence I'm tempted to rate it 4 stars instead of 5, but the positive aspects of the product make it hard for me to do that. I wish I could give it 4.5 starts, though.As far as light color, I would classify it as "cool white" and not warm. Though I generally prefer 2,700 Kelvin Warm white lighting, for a little nightlight I'm willing to concede to a cool white.Time will tell if the LEDs will last for several years -- if they are quality, they should. If I remember to update this review in a year, I will do so.Update: It has been 4 years, and these lights are still working. Couldn't be happier than the first day I wrote this review, all my comments still apply.

I’ve only had these for a couple of days, I ordered 4 hoping they would also work on a decor light switch however they only work on the outlet. I couldn’t find that in the product info so I thought I’d post it. I think this is a great idea great product however I’m taking 1 star because it doesn’t work as advertised. Mine just stays on 24/7. I have 1 in my entry way at the bottom of my stairs and the other at the top of the stairs, they have both been on since I put them on. I would have bought the cheaper one had I known this feature didn’t work. I don’t see any way to turn them off so it’s not a setting issue it’s a sensor issue however I rather they stay on than off only downside is this one is right across from my guest room, so I guess if it bothers anyone they can put something in front of it so it’s not shining under the door. I think the light is perfect not too bright not too dull. Now I just hope they last! Installing couldn’t be easier just unscrew the old one and screw in the new one even came with matching screws and matches my current outlets perfectly. I’ve had these outlets now for over a month I’m going to go ahead and update my review to a five star versus a four star review. Yes I’ll admit the areas I have it don’t get a lot of light I’ve noticed there are a few times when the lights actually do turn off. However leaving the lights on from what I’m reading won’t cost any money hopefully they won’t burn out my lights any faster either. I can say I really do enjoy having these in my home especially in my stairway which can be really dark and scary not just around Halloween!

Got a 2-pack of these two years ago. They worked well and are easy to install on a standard outlet. They're quite bright in a dark house. Maybe a tad too bright if looking for a soft nightlight, but good for a hallway.One of the 2 recently died though. Hoped for more than 2 years out of them, but at least 1 is still working.

Excellent product

This is a great idea because I like having night lights, yet they take up an outlet wherever I put them. This device frees up both outlets and has a light sensor, so when the lights are on or daylight is available to it, it turns off. Also it has two settings - bright and dim, which is nice to have a choice. Some of my outlets won't work with it, but I plan to have those outlets replaced. I think they are too old or in one case, the outlet inside is wrapped in electrician's tape, so the contacts are not available. I wish they had one for GFI outlets, as I'd like having one in the bathroom.

This is a really neat product. Incredibly simple to install. It is simply a faceplate with plug light connectors to the outlet. There is no need to remove the outlet. I am very impressed by these night lights. Excellent design, easy installation, night light that does not shine in your eyes. I am buying four more of these today. I highly recommend these

Light is bright. Looks clean and works mostly. The light only works in line with the ground prong which has become common to install facing up (as shown). Issue with that is the individual LEDs are very visable in the upward orientation. It could use a difusser cover to make that look better. Also the light sensor is near the lights and as a result in the upward position the sensor stays on in most light conditions because the cabinets block the overhead lights. The contact prongs of the light are very flimsy and fragile and as a result a prong broke off with first installation as the cover was applied per instructions. Overall if one didnt break first try and it worked in both directions it would have had another star. I understand all I have to do is flip the socket but then it wouldnt match the rest of the kitchen. It is still too overpriced and flimsy to justify using it in more places around the house. Which is a shame hopefully others will make it at a better price.
