Solid, scholarly book with 40 pictures
This is a solid and scholarly book on various aspects of Jerusalem. There is a nice intertwining of archeological, historical, reflective, and other strands of information. The writer is not an armchair academic, but a hands-on expert, one who has done first-hand excavation work and has taught archeology at two academic institutes in Jerusalem, e.g. Hebrew University. And there are 40 pictures, some of them color, some of them B&W. I wish they were slightly bigger, but they are fine the way they are.

History of Jerusalem
Very interesting but somewhat boring.
