Knockout Paperback – 16 April 2014

Ok, i have a confession i got this book on my prime monthly lending and it has sat on my kindle for ages. Now it is not that i did not want to read the book, it just never felt like the one i wanted to read at that moment in time. I eventually decided to read this story over the new year break. What a mistake that was on my part not to read it sooner, this story is brilliant and that is not even a good enough word to describe al the emotions it made me feel.This is a story of boy meets girl, but they are not ready for each other at all, age is in the way, social standing perspectives, family drama and life get in the way. Jenna our female lead is a girl who becomes a woman through this story, she has always loved Kellan from afar, but she has always valued the closeness of their friendship much more than delving into a relationship. But even when she wanted a relationship life gets in the way and so does her sister! The characters get pulled together in the most beautiful way and then ripped apart by their own doing and others. I think it was more sad to see them torn apart by themselves and than by others and situations they had no control over. Kellan is a moody guy, but it is revealed why he is this way and it is done in a brilliant way, the sex scenes are beautiful and heart breaking as well. Jenna is awesome and i loved her when she was by herself and with Kellan, Jenna knows what it means to wait for what your heart really wants and needs. I adored how they communicated in their own unique language - you will know what i mean when you read the book. Kellan is a boxer not a rough and ready street fighter he is disciplined and i loved the vast knowledge base of boxing that was included in the book and some boxing characters, i actually researched the central boxing character referenced and he is real. I also researched their secret language that Kellan and Jenna communicate with as i only know a bit of it and i loved their conversations. I am kicking myself it took me so long to read this book but i will now be signing off to research more of Tracey Ward and her work.

This is the first book I've read from this author, I have to say I enjoyed 90% of the book but at times felt it was a little dragged out, I loved the main characters and thought that their relationship was a little bit ridiculous because if they loved each other as it was portrayed they would of been together a lot sooner. But I did enjoy the tension between them and I thought it was well written. Can't wait to experience more from this author....

I am slightly speechless after having just finished this book. My fingers still work so I will try to process my thoughts efficiently enough.Firstly, this book is SO well written. In third person, which for some reason very few books I read are still in.The characters are just so full and three dimensional and their arc is one that you NEED to continue to the end as it is so enjoyable to do so.Kellan and Jenna are one of my favourite couples that I have ever read. I LOvED Jenna. She just oozed strength and confidence, but in such a discreet way.I look forward to reading more by this author. Fantastic!

Taking out the eww factor of ending up with a guy who almost married your sister I actually enjoyed this book. Could have done with a bit more editing but the characters of Jen and Kellan were well thought out and loveable, not your average stereotype for this type of novel which was refreshing. It's never going to be high brow literature but as a fun, curl up in bed with a bar of chocolate type book it was just about perfect.It made even this cold hearted b**** turn a little bit gooey and girly inside! Definitely recommend.

this is the first Tracey ward book I've read and it won't be the last. I've read a lot of books and I really enjoyed this one. The writing style made it easy to read, the character development was good, I loved and hated the main characters at the same time. Everyone has demons they carry around with them that changes who they could be. I liked the storyline, it wasn't predictable like so many other books. I think she is also writing a book from Kellen's point of view which takes the story further, I'm excited for that. Overall a really good book! :)

A 5 star rating for a 5 star book and author. Kellens life journey with Jenna was amazingly written. I cannot wait to read brawler, kellens point of view. This book is not the usual erotic romance I'm used to reading, it's a life love story that captivates you, drags you in to the characters feelings, their pasts, their individual journeys of discovery. A true love story with a difference... Btw when is brawler due to be released soon I hope... Brilliant author highly recommend.

This book was a good read, looking forward to reading Kellen point of view, would recommend this book as a MUST read.

Amazing story from a great author. No matter what life throws at you as long as you never give up you're a winner.

This was such an amazing and wonderful story. Kellen Coulter came into Jenna Monroe's life when she was only 13 years old. He was 17 years old and had already had a pretty hard life by that point. When he was 9 years old his mother died from cancer and he was thrown into the foster care system. He was tossed around many homes and some worse than others. He came into the Monroe household because he had gotten in a fight to protect a girl and Jenna's father didn't want all his hard work to be thrown away and him to have that on his permanent record. Her father has money now and is a talented lawyer but he came from a poor background and he understood trying to get out from under that. Jenna and Kellen were friends and they understood each other from day one. Jenna paid attention and cared about him and she didn't want him to change.Jenna is an old soul and she wants to find her own way. She loves art and loves to draw. Her mother expects her to become like her older sister Laney because that is what she understands - liking clothes, boys, etc. Jenna was never that type of person, she was always more like her Dad and the men in her life. She has always loved Kellen and she always wanted him to be just him. Jenna loves her family but she never really understood her mother or her sister Laney. Her dad is a really great guy and he loves his family completely but he understands Jenna. Her mother doesn't understand her and sometimes lashes out at her.Kellen is a really great guy but he has a pretty tragic past. Some terrible things were done to him when he was younger and he's never gotten over it. Jenna is the only one he is really himself around. All the girls that he's dated or messed around with, he becomes a very different person with them. Once he is intimate with someone he doesn't know how to feel things after. Ever since Jenna turned 15 years old, he has been attracted to her and wanted to be with her but he didn't want to lose her. I love Kellen as a character but sometimes I just wanted to smack him for the pain he caused Jenna. He didn't want to hurt her or cause her pain but he did it anyways. He's a good person but he couldn't see what he was doing and didn't know how to do things differently. I love that he wants to be different and tries to find ways to do that. His love for Jenna is real and he's trying to make things right.Definitely worth reading.

I just spend an amazing sunday!I 've spend it with Kellen and Jenna.I've spent it breathless, in a rollercoaster of feelings.I loved it!Kellen has just become my new fictional boyfriend. He is something I did not expect. I felt like kissing him, kicking him and taking him in my arms over and over again. The story of Jenna and Kellan is a story of friendship, understanding ,fear, hope, love, cowardness, pain and joy... it is a story about life with all its different shades.This is not of those book where the sex is hot; the story itself is.The read itself was good, but the time afterwards, when you put the book down it starts working in your mind, your heaart and soul.For once I don't want to tell you what the story is about because it will just not be enought, to simple to easy, to naive.So trust me, read this and enjoy the trip. MBTM

Nice read, predictable ending :) but I love a HEA for two people who belong together and don't give up
