Feng Crochet: Calming Projects for a Harmonious Home

Super fun, relaxing patterns
I'm a big Nikki Van De Car fan, I have What to Knit and Sereknitty... and I am very excited about Feng Crochet. I was a little hesitant about switching to crochet, but there are some really fun projects in here. I'm especially looking forward to the blankets and throw pillow.

This is a truly lovely book with great projects, photography and art
This is a truly lovely book with great projects, photography and art. Crocheting for me is both relaxing and meditative so I appreciate the link with Feng Shui. Plus I like puns too:)

You have to guess at what they look like (unfortunately). I bought this book because I knew ...
The problem with most pattern books is that they show yarns, techniques, etc., but rarely any of the projects. You have to guess at what they look like (unfortunately). I bought this book because I knew at least that it didn't contain any of the usual scarves and hats, and I thought it would have some interesting projects for the home. Well, they certainly are interesting, but I guess most aren't for me. Along with the crocheted covers for rocks on the front, you have things like mirror covers, a cord cover, and a pillow cover that isn't - sort of. It's very large crochet that doesn't cover the pillow in the same color [as the pillow], so it defeats the purpose of covering it at all. But there are some nice things as well - a throw pillow, couple of afghans, scatter rug and dreamcatcher, to name a few. The problem lies in the fact that the colors are all so dull - brown, ecru, grey, etc. I get that the author was aiming for the elements of Feng Shui, but the colors used make the projects unattractive. Yes, I know I can use any colors I want, but presentation goes a long way (and not only in food). I'm not saying not to buy the book; perhaps it will appeal to someone who may actually want a crocheted cord cover, and there were enough items in it that made the book worth the price.

Wonderful collection of projects to "soften" your home with warm and luxurious fibers in pretty stitch patterns
This book contains a wonderful collection of projects to "soften" your home with warm and luxurious fibers in pretty stitch patterns. Most are practical while some are simply a lovely way to add a pretty element to your environment. The color palette is in soothing colors but could easily be brightened simply by your own yarn choices. Nice finished project photos but no other images but detailed patterns.

Whimsical crochet book
I love this book. The projects are very easy and nice even if there are things that I would never do (the crochet corners for mirrors!)It’s a book that gives peacefulness and serendipity and the pictures are stunning and mindful.Very recommended.
