Bobj Rugged Case for Nexus 7 1st Generation 2012 WiFi or 3G/4G Tablet (Not for Nexus 7 FHD 2nd Generation 2013) - BobjGear Custom Fit - Sound Amplification - Kid Friendly - Rockin' Raspberry

Just received the Bobj case for my 6 year old daughter's Nexus 7. I am very pleased with it. It is much more robust than I was expecting. I have a silicon style case for my cell phone and was expecting the Bobj case to be similar. I was pleasantly surprised when I took the Bobj out of the packet. It is made of a very dense silicon and will clearly offer a lot of drop protection to the Nexus 7. The drawback of all this density is the added weight, but I think that's an acceptable price for the protection that it offers. We have tile floors in the house and the thought of the Nexus 7 being dropped, has made me very nervous. I feel more confident that an accidental fall will not damage the Nexus 7. The Bobj case fits snugly around the Nexus 7. The power button & volume rocker are a little more difficult to operate - the silicon is very thick, but my daughter will soon get used to this. There is no reduction in sound volume while the case is on and the screen is fully accessible. I haven't charged the Nexus 7 with the case on yet, but the usb port seems fully accessible. The lip on the front of the case is very deep, so there will be no chance of scratching the screen if the Nexus 7 is placed screen-side down on a flat surface. The Bobj case feels good in your hand and I don't think it would slip out of your hand. I was worried about getting a silicon case because I have read so many reviews of them becoming dust magnets - I've only had the case for 24 hours, but so far it seems lint free!I also purchased the Amzer 7.5 inch neoprene sleeve to keep the tablet in when it's in my bag when we go out of the house. Alas, the Bobj case is so substantial, that when it's on the Nexus 7, the neoprene sleeve is not big enough. No problem, I shall exchange it for a larger one, probably one that accommodates a 10 inch tablet will be fine. It's the drop protection that I was really looking for. I don't think you will be disappointed if you get the Bobj case, especially if you have children who are the prime users of the Nexus 7. I got it in Rockin' Raspberry and this color is a big hit with my daughter too!

I gave my 2 year old daughter my 1st generation Nexus 7 when I upgraded and really needed something sturdy and durable to protect the tablet from the clumsy hands of a 2 year old terror.... AND FOUND IT! This case is great! It is just thick enough around the edges to break falls when tablet is dropped, including protruding from the front so that if it is left on its face, the only thing actually touching the floor is the case! However I still recommend using a sticky clear plastic screen protector as well as the case. It slips on easily enough yet stays on tight enough to prevent my daughter removing it by herself. The only thing negative about it I think is that since it covers the buttons on the side of the unit, it makes it a little difficult to turn on and off and work the volume buttons. Definitely adults can, but my 2 year old always has to ask me to turn it on for her. But hey, that's not always a bad thing as it leaves me aware of what she is doing hahaha. They also come in multiple colors, and they made the same case for the newer 2nd generation Nexus 7 so my boyfriend also has a green one for his own tablet! He loves it. And talk about fair price! this this is well worth every penny!

So far my daughter has not dropped her tablet, but I feel pretty good that if she did - the Bobj case would save the day. It has a really thick gel type bulge all the way around the edges that looks like it would provide a ton of cushion.Probably of equal importance, part of the reason my daughter probably hasn't dropped the tablet is because this case also makes it really easy to hold. Even with one hand, the silicone is sticky, both to her hand and to the tablet. She can grab it by the outer edge securely and the tablet won't slip out of the case and it is easy for her to control.The only reason I docked one star is it could be a little easier to press the power/volume buttons - the rubber is a little thick there. Not anything that would prevent me from making the purchase again, but one area of opportunity.

I bought my twin seven year olds Nexus 7 tablets and got this case, one in pink for the girl and one in green for the boy, to protect them. One small negative, and I saw this in other reviews, is that it's a little hard for the kids to push the power and volume buttons through the rubber. They can still do it, but it's not as easy as it should be. Now to the positives: This case literally saved one of the tablets in the very first week! It is fantastic and I had to come write this review as a sincere "thanks". We had just gotten out of the car and were in the parking lot when my daughter tripped and tell forward. She skinned her knee and palm but was ok otherwise. However, when falling forward she completely let go of the tablet and it went flying forward and landed on it's corner on the pavement. This case is so protective it actually bounced up and back down and wasn't damaged in any way! I couldn't be more appreciative of the product, and thankful I bought it. Highly recommended.

I bought these for the kids for Christmas 2012, and realized I hadn't reviewed them yet. This case isn't bad, good price and it gave good fall protection for the tables since it has a very thick border protecting the edges and keeping the screen off the floor.My only complaint is that, by now, the silicone has become very 'tacky' and 'sticky' feeling, like it's breaking down. I've noticed this happens to silicone cases like this, but it's kind of unusable after a year and a half so I give it 4 stars instead of 5.

LOVE the color of this item! I have a GoGo Pillow to hold my tablet, but my tablet doesn't fit quite right in it, so I bought this skin hoping it would make my tablet just a little bit bulkier and maybe fit better into the pillow.... It didn't help much at all... But it is a pretty skin. Comfortable to hold texture, easier than holding the tablet with no skin. Makes tablet less likely to slip from your hands. DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY KIND OF SCREEN PROTECTOR!

On its own the Nexus 7 suffers from two physical problems, it is too thin at the edge to hold in one hand easily despite its light weight, and its thin plastic screen bezel around the edge wouldn't protect the glass screen against a drop to a hard surface. At first I looked at professional style cases, but they offer minimal drop protection, wouldn't help grip the edge much and frankly, they were boring and made my fun gadget look like a big wallet.Once I saw these cases and the cutaway picture of their shape I knew it was perfect and so it has proven to be. It adds a thick ergonomic curve of rubber around the edge and a sheet enclosing the back so one hand can hold it comfortably, and that thick edge will absorb any impact; I'm not about to test it by dropping it onto a tiled floor myself but I'll feel much better about it when someone inevitably does. The port/microphone cutaways are exactly placed and rigid, the speaker cutout fully exposes the speaker (unlike most other cases which partially cover it) and unlike some other reviewers I have no problem using the power/volume buttons through the layer covering them, and they no longer get pressed accidentally or in my bag. The whole case fits the device tightly like a glove.I got it in pink because it's eye-catching. The colour in the picture is exactly what it looks like.I will definitely be looking for this manufacturers cases for gadgetry in future.One thing to note is that I understand 3G Nexus 7 models have different port and microphone placement from non-3G models like mine. This case would definitely not fit those.

This is excellent for my 4 year old, makes it easy for her to hold and gives peace of mind as it offers good protection, especially how the edge sticks out at the front to prevent knocks etc. No troubles accessing the USB port.The only slight minus is that my daughter finds it difficult to use the volume and power buttons through the case by herself. However overall this is a great case, and I'd recommend it for use with kids, or clumsy people who just really like bright pink.

I bought this cover for my young daughter's tablet as she's always dropping it. It was easy to fit and use. I love the bright pink colour as it makes it really easy to find.

Bought this for my 4 year old daughter, intended to protect the Nexus from the inevitable bumps.As well as offering protection, the curved edges give small hands a better purchase than the thin edges of the Nexus.The material is a flexible plastic rather than a rigid 'tough case', with a rough surface that offers a remarkably good grip.
