They shortened and thinned down the design slightly from the older version I have.Doesn't feel quite as strong however it does work well enough.Update: They loosened up quite a bit. The pliers have alot of play and the tip will offset when you apply a little pressure while using it.

I ordered these because they are xcelite brand and are made in USA. However, even though the picture shows USA on the handle, the one I received ARE MADE IN CHINA. I should send these back because I paid for US made otherwise I would have bought a Chinese brand and paid half. I should send them back, but its not worth my time or effort for the $10.I guess I wont be buying xcelite tools any more. Another US brand ruined by moving production to China. I’ll start switching to German made tools.

I actually purchased these for my jewelry making. I wanted a pair of good sturdy pliers that I can dip into Tool Magic and use for working with jump rings to create chain maille jewelry. They work so well that I now own 4 pairs of these pliers. Two are kept clean and two are kept with a coating of the rubber on them. I love these pliers. They are a very good purchase.

Pliers work good but if you need customer service from xcelite good luck they are not much help. So I would go with another brand from now on. Apex tool ships fast and seems legit.

The problem I have with this is the lack of smoothness of the hinge, which locks and does not work very well.I lubricated it with WD40 with no luck so I don't really like it.

These pliers are comfortable in the hand, grip small parts well, and easily controllable - they work as an extension of your hand. I keep a pair in my lab, my office, and my workshop.

I'm using those to pull fiber SC connectors out of tight spots. They're just big enough to have a good grab and the serrations are just enough to give a good grip without leaving marks on the plastic.
