Best taste
By far the best medium roast I have tasted. No after taste, no acidity, a real treat.

The smoothest cup of coffee you will ever try.
Full bodied, not bitter and very smooth. It is also Kosher. Love the aroma as it brews in the morning. Always roasted to perfection and shipped fresh.

I really wanted to give this 5 stars...
...but it's just not the best I've had. I'm leaving it on my Subscribe and Save because it's not bad and the price is good, but I've had better. The reality is that I can't, nor do I want to, pay for the better that I've had. Even being "not the best" this is far better than preground coffee and Ethiopian Yirgacheffe is my favorite variety of coffee bean. It's not really prevalent enough that it's easily found, though it's gotten easier in the past few years. I would say this is definitely a medium roast, not as light as I'd prefer, but not so dark that it tastes burnt. The freshness was good, the beans were less than 2 weeks old according to the label and didn't look or taste stale. I would really prefer a much lighter roast, and the beans to be shipped within a week of roasting, but outside of that, I don't think you can get any better of a price for this quantity of beans at this quality.

Affordable, rich and smooth
We own a Jura Impressa 59 coffee machine that has delivered consistent quality for many years. Recently I've noticed a deterioration in the Starbuck's Medium Roast sold at Costco. It's gotten bitter and lacks the sophistication of earlier incarnations. So, we started hunting for an afford alternative. Here it is. Other that genuine Blue Mountain coffee (so much of the coffee calling itself Blue Mountain is clearly not) our favorite coffees are usually a peaberry (one bean instead of two etc.). Unfortunately, these are not cheap coffees. The Ethiopian Yirgacheffe Kochere turns out to be a very smooth, rich tasting coffee without bitterness or unpleasant aftertaste. Works in expresso, flat white and cappuccino. Not so good for Irish Coffee (in my opinion). Until we find a better one, this is our new go-to coffee for daily consumption. Recommended for people enthusiasts.

Pretty much flavorless and tasteless when prepared in super espresso machine. Waste of money!
Although the coffee smelled good upon opening the bag, the resulting coffee made in a super automatic Jura espresso machine is flat and flavorless. My machine make great coffee, so it's not the machine, but the quality of the beans I received. There are no over or under tones of any taste whatsoever. The cup of coffee has moderate crema, but no discernable aroma. It's practically scentless, and this is a bad thing. This coffee just isn't good, it's like dishwater. Can't tell if it's been subjected to improper storage, or it's just old. For what it is worth the expiration label states 10/01/2021. It sure would be even more horrible by then! What I can tell you, with no doubt, is this BAD coffee. Wretched is more like it. I have purchased SuperCrema online before, and it makes a decent cup. When available, I purchase Yirgacheffe Kochere locally and never have had a bad cup on my machine. It's been always great. Of course that coffee has been roasted in the store and is of great freshness. If I purchased coffee this bad locally I'd return it in an instant. Two thumbs down. I received no benefits, nor perks, nor promises of anything in making this review. Purchased the coffee with my own funds. Not a social influencer in any way. Just an irritated customer who's purchased 2 lbs of terrible substandard coffee and who wishes he hadn't. Now I have to empty my Jura to get rid of this awful stuff. A note to Amazon: How is the attribute "Sheerness" appropriate to a bag of coffee beans in the review section? Seems like it doesn't match the product.

Average coffee
Purchased the Yirgacheffe medium-roast version. Overall, it's an OK coffee, decent balance in terms of taste, a bit lacking in terms of aroma. But as a Yirgacheffe, it just doesn't cut it. It simply doesn't have any of the distinct flavors or aroma (citrus, fruit, honey, etc) that should come with a Yirgacheffe. The beans are also over-roasted for a medium roast, killing whatever remnants of a Yirgacheffe profile that might have been there. I wonder what awfulness their dark roast Yirgacheffe would taste. Anyway, it's an OK coffee, but poor value for the money and nowhere near the quality of Yirgacheffe. There's also no roast date on the package. The review system on Amazon is confusing because they combine reviews for all different types of beans and roasts under the same store, which makes it hard to judge the reviews of any specific type that one is buying.
