Coney Island: 40 Years

Harvey Stein has a master's eye. His books encompass some of his favorite destinations, and each one is packed with evocative images of people and places. This Coney Island edition spans 40 years and groups his photos into interesting categories. I've never been to Coney Island, but having seen this book, I feel like I really understand it. It is one of my favorite books of photographs.

Loved Mr. Stein's Coney Island Book 50 years ago and found the new and some of the older images in this book exceptional and memorable.Tom B.

if you would like pictures (photos) of Coney Island this is not the book for you, I was so disappointed in this one there were only pictures (snapshots) of people I have no idea who they are and I feel they are not the greatest shots either. Not happy with this book at all.

I pull it out all the time to look at. Really beautiful photos

The photos in this book - and there are many - are wonderful and very evocative of a "time and place". Very nostalgic and lovingly presented....I had the pleasure of meeting Harvey Stein last year, when he and a few others gave a terrific talk & photo presentation at the Brooklyn Historical Society. I treasure this book.

Inspired to buy this after visiting Coney Island - excited to go back. The photos & history are incredible. A fantastic buy.
