Short and Sweet!
So many art books are incredibly ‘wordy’ and leave you with no definite plan. Where I go from here? What do I do next? You don’t know; you’re left in limbo. Not so with this book. This is a very short book, but it’s ‘pithy’. Everything is there because it needs to be, and you aren’t left up in the air, but with your feet on the ground, knowing what you can do next to improve your ability to draw in perspective.

I can truly recommend this book to any artist finding life drawing hostile
I was taught to "draw what I see" - which admittedly is a very honest and an momentous motif, but not vey helpful putting a 3d image on a 2d platform. Perspective, if never accomplished by the artist will demolish any attempt to put a believable image on canvas. For myself it has been a complex left brain adversary I never accomplished and Vladimir's book really helped me to move the obstacles by letting me feel and understand the basics of perspective. I can truly recommend this book to any artist finding life drawing hostile. Putting all the building blocks of the body into recognizable form is impossible without a sense of depth; height and width. It is not something you will instantly feel or recognize, but an accomplished skill and because it is such a complex subject it is worth you while to invest in a talented author to explain the subject in elementary terms.

Effective and Complete Introduction to Perspectives
Artist author uses a wealth of historical and classical paintings, along with supporting photos and illustrations to explain and define the basics of perspectives in art an how to us them for works ranging from landscapes, architectural paintings to human depictions. This short work was more comprehensive than I thought, which was a good thing. Not only good as a primer, it also serves well as a reference resource for planning or resolving perspective issues for beginning and intermediate artists. Its depth serves as a good reminder of critical artistic concepts often forgotten when used too infrequently.Good value for the price invested.

Highly recommend it.
I am a drawing academy. com student and I must say that my experience was much better than I expected. I love their article, video classes and in reality everything that they publish on their site. I love traditional art training because it encourage you to challenge yourself and create works of art that art a true representation of what you want your audience to see. I have had some training in fine arts but this is much better than most modern institution can provide you. This book is no exception to the high quality instruction and training you can expect from drawing academy.

Perspective Clearly Explained
This should be a must have for all artists. I always skirted the subject and wondered "how did they do that", especially with cityscapes. This book gives you a good foundation and explains clearly how to achieve the desired results. Best thing about it, used clearly understandable terms.Clear, concise and definitely informative. I'm ready for the next thing from London.

Didn't find it useful
Maybe I overlooked something but I didn't find the book particularly useful. (Others obviously did). Perspective is very complicated, can take a long time to master and can be quite a distraction to the artist. I gave three stars for the writers empathy towards not letting poor perspective detract from the artist intention. He also does not seem to think too highly about drawing from photos. This is a controversial area and I can see both sides of the argument. That being said, I've drawn from photos all the time because otherwise you have to go to the actual place or have the actual item (like a flower) in front of you. Not only impractical but very limiting to those who can not travel or have access to flowers, ect.If your looking for cheap and easy to mastering perspective this isn't it (cheap yes, easy no). And probably doesn't exist just like for shading or color theory. Artists keep chasing those dreams and books keep getting written making promises.

Great book
Great book, i read some other book about perspective before this, and it’s only with this book that i really start to grasp the concept, my only regret is that i find the last part about human figure in perspective too short.
