Book came in pieces
I picked a book in less than good condition, but this is hardly acceptable for the price.

This is an excellent go-to reference book on Home, fashion, beauty and life in general
I really really love Sali Hughes' book. I keep reading it in bits and I always find something useful eg how to buy jeans that fit; how to buy a car or how to have a system for the different passwords for each website etc. I also love the personable way in which the book is written - Sali's approach feels direct, genuine and with a sharp sense of humour. I often end up with a smile on my face. The book has so much common sense and wisdom that it will not go out of fashion. I highly recommend it... it is worthwhile investment !

Adored this book!
I absolutely adored this book. as a fan of Sali’s for YEARS, I knew I had to purchase, but I didn’t actually know just how much I NEEDED this book. I would throughly recommend getting this book for anyone above 25, it’s filled with life lessons, tips, and caring advise from Sali. I can relate to some of her stories she openly shares within the book and she talks with such reassuring confidence. She is a beautiful writer, and I’ve already got a few copies in my basket for Christmas for my friends. I would strongly advise you to buy and read this book. You’ll come back richer. Xx

Everything Is Washable
I bought this because I loved Sali Hughes writing in Pretty Simple and especially Pretty Iconic. She still has a great style, but this strangely old-school "household almanac" is only for a very, very specific audience. If you're not a wealthy, house-and-garden, dinner party, fashion-conscious, able-bodied cis woman in your 30s living in Britain, most of it isn't very relevant. It's a shame because there are some great, sensitively written sections ( eg, how to talk to someone who is going through IVF) but most of it is super specific (eg, how to get a dentist's appointment through the NHS.)Hopefully Hughes will write more in general about pop culture and fashion for Gen Xers, but this book's not for me.

Gorgeous new book from Sali.
I have long been a fan of Sali’s writing. Purchasing her previous books and a dedicated follower of her beauty advice in The Guardian. This book is a joy to read. It arrived yesterday and I have devoured most of it already. It’s a really comforting read at a time when people are in desperate need of comfort. It’s not patronising or condescending. Just like her beauty columns it’s honest tried and tested advice from a rather wise woman. I particularly like the advice for a friend going through IVF. I wish it had been around to share with friends during my IVF treatment. Thanks Sali.
