Love this meter. Very easy to use, calibrate, and navigate. Have only had it for a few weeks, but worked perfectly right out of the box and hasn't needed another calibration since (verified by other calibrated pH meters). The rugged design of the meter with the rubber coated sides insures that it won't slip out of wet hands. Highly recommend.

Meter is used for basic PH and temperature measurements. It's easy to calibrate with friendly face icons.

I love this rugged Apera Instruments Premium Series PH8500 Portable Handheld pH Meter Kit and the fact that I can take lab-grade pH readings with it quickly. This is definitely far more professional than other ones we've used, and while I am still playing around with it, I have been happy that I have been able to get good and accurate readings for our hot tub, regular water, and even our aquarium. It's faster and actually easier than other methods and items we were using, so I'm super happy.I like that this has a foldable stand included, and while I was almost intimidated about how to use it at first, I found it wasn't difficult. It practically does all the work for you if you have everything set up correctly. My oldest son (15 y/o) has also been having the time of his life "testing" with it.This boasts a pretty impressive amount of features on it that I really appreciate and will be using often. It even has its own self-diagnosis that makes sure the meter is calibrated correctly, and it will guide you through troubleshooting/fixing the most common things you may encounter with it when things go wrong.Overall, I'm very satisfied with it and the accuracy - it gets two thumbs up from us!

Having a freshwater tank is a very expensive hobby but the maintenance can be made simpler with devices such as these. It works great for us and it is much easier to change the water by monitoring it constantly than having to replace our precious fish! A great buy no matter the intention you have for it, good for drinking water as well.

I find my self using ph and orp probes many times in a week. I was looking into something that would replace "budget" ph probes and meters that always seem to be short lived and drift a lot. This one is great compared to others I have used in the past. Temperature is right on point. I compared it to 5 different digital thermometers, and a lab glass certified thermometer. All were the same. I also tested the ph and millivolt ability on 7 different reference solutions, all were very accurate. The sensors are so sensitive, body heat holding the test tubes would shift the reading by the tenths decimal place until the device stabilized. I didn't have all the time I would of liked to use this item this week. So I did not get to use a lot of the features it has yet. At first I thought I got a used or broke one. The probes were plugged in when I got it and it had three batteries in it. I don't know if they did this to calibrate before shipping or if it was used prior. Also I couldn't figure out how to power the device off. I quickly figured it out after browsing the manual. Easy to read and clearly written. I would suggest doing this as there are a lot of cool features. If your looking for a good meter this is it but its not budget by any means. I think I will have to get a glass probe as well for some of the other things I use in the lab. The probe included is a good double junction probe but it would not hold up to strong acids or bases for a long time.

I have been looking for something to check the pH levels in both my pool and hot tub for a while now. My pool place is open so sporadically these days, which is where I’ve had the levels tested previous to everything else that has been going a little crazy in the world right now. We have a bit of hard water in my area, and I like to stay on top of things.An ounce of prevention… I found this pH tester simple to use, and when comparing it to the readings I took for testing at the pool place, the results were identical, with no variation. Obviously, they couldn’t do accurate temp readings there, but I found the temp readings with this unit to be spot on with the 2 other digital readers I had, so feel very comfortable that this unit is worth it to help keep my equipment clean and clear! The stand is a nice added touch that allows me to take care of business without juggling everything.

After trial an error through multiple products, I have learned that all in ones are more prone to failure than single function instruments. There are just more points where the product can fail. I have been trying to upgrade all my instruments to single function and I can easily say that this PH meter has earned a spot in my 3rd grow room. I will also say I prefer Apera over other brands of meters since as long as you treat their equipment as instructed, they last a long time. Also, they have excellent customer service. I have only dealt with them once and it was stellar service.As for the this meter, it is accurate. It is within .10 PH of my other trusted meters. Where this meter shines is in durability and connectivity. I feel I can drop this meter with absolutely no issue.Great product.
