Simple but ingenious!
Whoever came up with this is practical and ingenious! Pretty simple to use...slip it over an athletic shoe (or a shoe that ties)...take out or add the inserts to get the height you need to match your cast or boot...I can't believe such a simple thing made walking and doing everything else in the eight weeks I had my leg in a cast so much more comfortable and safe! It probably kept me from hurting my hips and back as well by keeping me even.I did try to avoid getting the bottom wet of both this leveler and my cast because I was worried about slipping. You would probably be cautious with regular shoes as well, so, that was not an issue for me.I hope I don't break anything else, so I am probably going to donate it to the community medical devices services as soon as my cast is off. It was a game changer and hopefully can help someone else.

This thing was AMAZING and really helped make time spent in a big charcot boot a lot easier by keeping my other foot near level with the boot height. It truly deserves 5-stars for function and for value - BUT - the problem I have had is the things are just not that durable as I have had TWO of them fail miserably in the same way in as many months when the bottommost part of the shoe comes unglued and separates, leaving you with a very dangerous situation as your foot can slide and trip you! I work at home, so I did not abuse or overuse these by any stretch of the imagination. They have a product that functions so well and can help so many - just step up the quality control - please!!!!!UPDATE: The maker furnished me a new one to replace the ones that broke and this last one was better glued together and held well for the last few months I was in "the boot". Worked SO well for helping back/hip pain from uneven walking that I think EVERYONE who gets a boot or big cast should also get these. I am like an evangelist stopping strangers I see struggling with walking well in a single boot and telling them to get one of these right away.

Looks funny, ppl will look but it will help
Update: after wearing this for at most a week, the Evenup stretched and the Velcro started to come off. My sneaker doesn't fit and now has glue all over it. It the sticks to rug at work. I highly recommend trying a smaller size.I have a boot on left foot. I wish I would have purchased this sooner but read some negative reviews, didn't get it and ended up injuring my right knee to the point that I can barley walk with boot on. So my doc suggested something to level my gait. The Evenup will make you more balanced as long as your shoe does not have a larger then normal sole. I have hoka sneaks and the sole is a bit too high to wear with this shoe leveler. It will still work but I felt a slight difference and changed sneakers. It is awkward at first but I didn't feel it was heavy. It felt more comfortable to walk with it on.My feet are 8.5 but my sneakers are usually 9-10. I ordered the medium and wonder if the small would have been better. If you are uncertain, check with a medical supply center. I didn't know the place I bought my boot from carried them until I went for my brace. I wish I would have at least tried it then. Also want to note, make sure it's dry between shoe and leveler or it will squeak loudly. Happy healing..!

OMG Buy this if you have a boot cast!!!
I broke my foot in June and got put in a walking boot cast. I walked around lopsided and hobbling for about 4 weeks until I complained to my podiatrist that it was hurting my hips and the rest of my body having to compensate. She recommended I get an Evenup, so I ordered this from Amazon. I admit I kind of winced at the price a little, not expecting much, but I am SO GLAD I bought this! It is 100% worth the money and I have told over 20 people about it, showing it off. It goes on your non-booted shoe and...well...evens up your legs. If you've ever been stuck in a walking boot, you know what the 'step-thunk' is like. This product completely eliminated that and made my body feel so much better. I have gotten out of the boot and placed the Evenup in my medicine cabinet, ready for the next time I break an ankle or foot, or to pass along to a friend/family member. I wore mine for 4 months (yes, it was a bad break), and it is still in great shape!!

Helps Level “Good “ Foot But Is a Bit Large
The product does what it’s supposed to, which is to level the height between one’s good foot (in my case, the right foot) and my injured one (left), which is in a cast. The Even Up shoe has two layers, the top one which can be removed if the wearer prefers to subtract more height (and vice versa). My only complaint is that since the device I purchased is size M/L, this size accommodates Women’s shoe sizes 9-11, but as a size 9 1/2 shoe wearer, there is at least an extra 1/2 to 3/4 inch of length. So when I walk, the device moves, forcing my own shoe forward and thus off the Even Up platform. Thankfully, this doesn’t greatly interfere with my ability to walk. If it weren’t cost prohibitive, I would suggest the manufacturer narrow the range of shoe sizes available within a particular Even Up size; for example, make a product for sizes 9-10 rather than 9-11.

If you have a walking boot or cast - this is a must
A woman in the grocery store told me about this when she saw me with my cast, hobbling to pick something up.It's a riser platform that straps to your shoe opposite of the cast/boot. Walking boots or casts add about a 1/2 inch to an inch height to that side and the uneven height with the other leg will trash your lower back, hip and knees over the 6-8 weeks you wear the cast. Trust me - you need this! It straps to the bottom of your shoe and evens the height to match the cast.Towards the end of the 6 weeks it felt pretty wobbly, not as tightly fitting. I felt I had to be careful to not trip or roll my ankle. If I had to wear the cast 8 weeks, I would have replaced it half way through at 4 wks. But I kept thinking, only 2 more weeks, just don't roll your ankle. Still - it's a must! Just wear a sturdy shoe under it.
