HEADS UP!!! Do some extra research before you purchase.
Quality part but as always you can not rely on Amazon "fit" recommendations on ANY part 100%. Amazon is correct most of the time but take the time to double check EVERY part you order from amazon. Excluding the obvious wiper blades, oil/air filters and such. This coil DOES FIT A 2005 BMW Z4 even though Amazon disagrees. I purchased one of these over a year ago as only one cylinder was misfiring. Worked perfect and the job was completed in a flash. At that time Amazons fitment suggested the part was a fit for my z4. Recently another coil went bad so I went to reorder and... Oh no "this part does not fit your 2005 bmw z4. what? did i install the wrong coil last time? Although the coils Amazon does recommend for your particular car may or may not do the job I contacted several BMW dealerships and oem parts retailers and confirmed that this IS the LATEST GREATEST coil for our 2005 bmw z4. You will find that the original coil has been discontinued and several have taken its place over the years. Double checking part fitment prior to ordering through Amazon has saved me tons of aggravation and due to the fact Amazon is usually the least expensive it has been worth the extra effort to confirm the parts. Hope this saves you a headache from ordering the wrong part. If you dont already know? This is a super easy repair job to install these and will save you hundreds in literally "minutes".

Easy to Install and Cleared Misfire Error Code
I had a P0301 "Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected" code and "Service Engine Soon" light pop up on my 2006 BMW Z4 3.0si recently. The most likely problem for this error code is a bad ignition coil. The cylinder numbering on the inline six-cylinder engine starts with #1 at the front of the engine/car and ends with #6 at the back of the engine. This Bosch 0221504470 ignition coil has the notch in the center of the electric connector, which is what my existing ignition coil has. My understanding is that this coil is for cars manufactured after 04/2006. For good measure, I checked the sticker on my driver's door and confirmed that my car was manufactured in 06/2006. Before 04/2006, the ignition coil apparently has the notch offset from center, which is a different part number than this. replacement is easy, even if you're not mechanically inclined. Simply flip up the lock on top of the ignition coil, pull out the electric connector. Pull the ignition coil up and out. Push the new coil down into the cylinder firmly. Plug in the electrical connector while pushing the lock down (you may or may not hear a click), and you're done. The car stopped misfiring and the "Service Engine Soon" light went off after two days.

These worked perfect! and fit perfect as well!
First thing the shipping was awesome free shipping and got it super fast in two days! Installed the coils (all 6) and the car starts up so good and smooth I currently have a 2008 BMW 335xi e92 coupe and I recently got installed the cobb accessport stage 1+ so right away I got a misfire and so I replaced all the spark plugs and coils and the car now has no hiccups! also got rid of this ticking noise the car had and it kind of hesitated to start just wasn't normal but after the parts the honestly the car just starts! Highly recommend these coils they are solid and are exactly like the OEM ones!

Solved misfire, but Check Fit for your Car
Got a code for p0305, cylinder 5 misfire. Swapped the cylinder 1 and 5 coils, misfire now on cylinder 1. Great. I purchased these in 2018 to have on the shelf preparing for this exact issue. I have a 330i with 04/2005 Build date. According to realoem.com, the part for my car is supposed to be 12138616153, and the Bosch replacement part for that is 0221504800. I mistakenly bought these coils, 0221504470, thinking they would be the same. The right part for my car is 12137594936 (Bosch 0221504465) with the tab to the left. I'm still unsure of whether 12138616153/0221504800 will fit. As others have mentioned, the alignment tab for the connector is off-center in the original coil for my vehicle. To get these to fit I used a very small screwdriver and picked away at the tab until it was removed, now there is no alignment tab. I would recommend just buying the right parts to begin with, since this kind of hacking of parts should not be done on a BMW.

Quick fix for a misfire in my '12 X6M
I have the Carly reader/app on my iPhone (highly suggest getting this setup) and when my car went into reduced power mode I did a quick scan. I also noticed it was idling rough. Turns out I had a misfire in cylinder #8 (against firewall, driver's side). 1-4 are front to back passenger side, 5-8 are front to back driver's side FYI. I was due for plugs, so I changed those and in the process swapped the coils in #5 and #8 as #5 is very easy to get to without taking anything off. Started the car back up and now #5 was misfiring. This is the easiest way to test these coils. Ordered this on Amazon, got it next day, swapped out the bad #5 coil and now I'm running perfectly again. $25 on here, $70 at autozone and $120 at the dealer. No brainer. Ordering 1 more to have on hand as these coils are known to just die randomly. This coil should work for a wide range of BMWs, if you're reading this now you've likely done your homework.
