Works for me!
Firstly, I had an Amazon order of four items. The first one, a plug gapping tool that came from an external source, came almost instantly, and then the other three, shipped by Amazon itself, came far before the disignated arrival date. And, as per usual in my dealings with Amazon, everything arrived in perfect order and was packed very well. This brush cutting attachment, which I bought for my Craftsman 4 cycle weedwhacker, went together without a problem and quite quickly. It was just a matter of installing the "J" handle and a small loop assembly for the harness. The attachment went on the shaft very easily. It fit perfectly, showing the more universal situation regarding most split-shaft attachments. I know may speak about proprietary parts, but I'm not sure this applies to split-shaft equipment. I've never had a problem matching these kinds of parts. The working end of the machine, which is this blade assembly, worked like a charm. I was skeptical, being that I've used line trimmers for ages and know exactly how to hold them, tilt them and work them through even the thickest brush, but have never used a blade of any kind. When I set this one up, I was surprised that I didn't feel anything sharp at all, no matter where I touched the blade. I wondered if something was wrong. So, I cautiously cranked up the motor and warmed it up, then I took it down to a swampy area below the house. We have 87 acres, but I maintain only a few acres outside of the immediate lawns. I will use the weedwhacker up and down steeper banks, such as the ravine next to the house, and anywhere I won't take the John Deere lawn tractor or the DR bush cutter. I've done a good job with the line trimmer head, but I always had to go around the thicker saplings and anything woody. I use a very thick line, so it will work into thicker stems, but I need to let the line strike it for a minute or two before it may or may not cut through. So, I decided to try this bush cutting attachment, to see if it could take care of what the line trimmer head could not. My skepticism left once I began getting the feel of handling this unit, which happened very quickly for me. I was instanly knocking down trunks that were at least an inch thick, letting it saw for so many seconds, and got them right at the ground. I then used the blade to knock off the branches and cut the trunks to shorter lengths. I would say the blade, dull as it felt to the touch, went right through those narrow, woody trunks without much effort at all.The brush that I needed to cut was growing out of various pits caused by underground water flow, and was deep enough so that I couldn't get the DR walk-behind brush cutter at any of it. I got out the weeds with the line trimmer, but the heavier stuff would have required loppers, which was my game plan before I ordered this blade attachment. I do have a lot of wild shrubs growing out from the creek that runs through our valley, most in standing mud or water and tons that grow just over the rather steep bank. I won't take the DR into too much mud or water, nor will I let it get too close to the fragile edge of the embankment, so this blade will certainly be a great help to me.I would say that before you might feel critical of this tool, be sure you use it properly, with good speed on the blade, and attack the brush at any angle that works best for you. Don't expect the smooth or even the scalped ground you can get with a line trimmer head, but plan for knocking down the thicker stuff and seeing it lie about as you cut it. I never experienced pieces flying back at me at all, but I would wear protection for eyes anyway, and I would wear long pants and boots for added protection. Those would be normal precautions.Personally, I am satisfied with this tool and would recommend it to anyone. Because I'm sure like split-shaft heads would operate in quite the same way, I believe any negative reviews must come from the user's lack of proper operation during the attack. I felt no vibration at all using this one, but if blades aren't attached properly while replacing them, the speed of spin itself could cause plenty of it. This unit, out of the box, worked just as I hoped, and now I feel far more confident in both the purchasing and operating of such tools. As far as my recommendation is concerned. please note that this was my first day using it, so I cannot vouch for its longevity. It feels solid and well constructed from a newbie's point of view, so take that into consideration as you ponder over the investment in this TrimmerPlus brush cutting attachment.

Cuts great! No issues.
I purchased this to cut down last years old plants to allow for new growth. Liriope, perennials that start new growth etc. Item was well packaged, directions were easy to use and assembly was simple. . I would previously just use my string trimmer attachment and would go through tons of string. This cut down on time and no wasted string. I have huge liriope beds, enough that all the waste filled up the back of my truck to go off to the dump. The harness and J-handle are very nice and save your forearms. It cuts best moving from left to right, as the directions state. I did use this on a couple small tree growths up to 1 inch thing and it cut through nicely. the blade is still in good shape. I find the j handle and harness also very useful when weed whacking. I definitely recommend this item to help clear light to medium brush. If this review was helpful, please let me know by selecting yes or no. Thank you

Brushcutter Attachment For String Trimmer
I have a Greenworks G-Max 40 volt 14 inch string trimmer that accepts attachments but Greenworks don't sell a brushcutter. This Trimmer Plus attachment fits perfectly and is a quick and easy installation on my string trimmer. This works really well on any type of woody stemmed weeds and small trees that are too much for the string trimmer head to handle. My string trimmer already has a handle and shoulder strap but they are included if you need them. Depending on your useage and expectations, the type of blade on this brushcutter may have some advantages over other types of blades. Since it isn't sharp like a saw blade or chainsaw, it doesn't require maintenance or sharpening. The 4 tip style of blade on this brushcutter won't replace a chainsaw but it is a perfect tool to bridge the gap between the string trimmer and a saw. Since this type of blade is a "happy medium" between the string trimmer and an actual saw blade, it will still cut long grass and weeds pretty well, without the need to change back to the string trimmer head. I doubt that an actual "sawblade" would work as well as this does for multipurpose trimming jobs. In fact, since I installed this brushcutter attachment on my Greenworks trimmer, I have never bothered to put the string trimmer head back on. I have found that this brushcutter will work quite well for the vast majority of my trimmer needs and eliminates the need to replace trimmer string.

CUTS THICK WEEDS LIKE BUTTER
I bought the Husqvarna 128CD... .lightest of the weed whackers, the LD is too heavy for me, and I'm 6 feet tall, starts easily unlike the cheaper weed whackers so its worth the extra $40, great for grass, but it has trouble cutting 3 foot tall weeds, with 1/4 to 3/8 inch diameter stalks, the plastic string constantly breaks off, I have horses and I don't want them eating 3 inch pieces of sharp plastic string, so this bladed extension is a must... cuts thru those weeds like butter... adds a bit of weight but that's OK.... it comes with a 4 blade cutter that works perfect...
