gypsywarrier needs to do some research before writing reviews. Grade 304 stainless is not magnetic therefore using a magnet is not an accurate method of determining the iron content.These rods are stainless and are of very high quality. I used a grinder to cut them as they are very hard.

Good quality, ends were a little rough. However the description claims "These things are very nice and easy to cut" - I found them impossible to cut shorter, so make sure you buy the actual length you need.

Only buy these if you want metal rods and the material doesn’t matter. These are not steel as they claim to be. They are clearly a recycled composite metal with a very low iron content. This can be observed by using a magnet on them. If they were really 304 stainless steel the magnet would be very attracted to them. As is a magnet will have almost no attraction meaning there is almost no iron in them and so they are not stainless steel. That coupled with the very rough edges will discount them for many jobs. They aren’t useless though. If you just need to fashion a small axle or something then why not go for these. Three seconds with an angle grinder and they can be any size and shape you need. Plus the price is not bad considering. Hope this helps.

It can not be used if you want to use them for a delicate or precision job. Poor surface and badly cut ends.

the rods contain pitting and marks from machining, havnt tried them yet but there not as shiny either than my others I bought for my 3d printer from ali
