Can I use a 357 battery instead of the lr44??

fyi, correction to previous responder's answer: The LR44 is not a lithium cell. The "L" is actually the designator for "alkaline". Search LR44 on Wikipedia.

Is the Battery replaceable?

Yes the battery is replaceable and the one I got came with an extra battery. It comes with a small Philips screwdriver that is used to take the battery cover off.

Can it measure beads for jewelry making projects?
