Milady's Standard Cosmetology 1st Edition

The book is in used condition and fine for what I need it for. However, the ad is misleading and it is not accurate—it is not a ‘bundle’ that includes the practical and theory workbooks as the description and images state. It is the book only.

I expected this book to provide more up-to-date information and more guidance than I have been able to find on the internet. Although this book contained a lot of good information that has remained true over time, it was very general. The book contained many things that I already know. Although I have never gone to cosmetology school, this information would have served me well if I needed a refresher in the basics. I have afro-textured hair, and I have had to learn to take care of it on my own (since it looks better on my head than on the floor or in the trash) based on my current location. This book is ok if you need to learn very basic things. The language in which it is written is simple.

BASIC, SIMPLE, COVERS BASIC INFORMATION WELL. GAVE IT TO MY TEEN, AND SHE TOOK OFF QUICKLY WITH IT.

Good book

We keep this in the salon to have on hand for new assistants starting training. We use it for the very basics, and it describes things more simply than a seasoned colorist or stylist will.

So happy to have this. I have the newest version but the red seal test has terms in it that the newer one doesn’t have, so I was recommended to get an older model.

Didn’t come in the best condition

This book is awesome, I studied hairdressing in 2007 and I remembered my teacher used that same text. It has all the information I needed for hair, massage and nails. I would recommend this book to anyone.
