Very tough knife despite the materials
I love the m16 line of knives and wanted to get the toughest of the models. So far Ive beaten this thing hard at work and performs damn well after 6 months of hard use and abuse. Disassembly is easy but reassembly is hell when trying to get the spring back in. It sharpens easily, hold a decent edge, and is a real workhorse for work as a contractor like me, or for use as a self defense knife. Iโd say itโs great and definitely a knife that earned a โdaily carryโ award from me. Never realized till now how often I pick it up and feel naked without it or any knife. Only regret was getting serrations as they limit the slicing edge on your knife. The blade material could be better regarding the price but itโs sufficient to try a knife for its design

Great knife, great value
I had a friend who bought this knife 8 years ago and still uses it every day. I knew i was going to buy this blade for years, and i finally made the purchase! CRKT knives are some of the best folders out there and this knife is no exception. Although the large blade makes it a little big for everyday use, when folded and secured with the sturdy belt clip this knife can be carried anywhere, perfectly comfortable in the corner of a jeans or cargo shorts pocket. When unfolded, this knife is NASTY. The blade flies open with a bit of index finger pressure, locking into place with a satisfying "clack." The extra locking mechanism makes it very secure to use without worrying about the knife closing on your fingers. This particular blade was inspired by the design of the M-16, and you can tell...The switch to unlock the blade is even modeled to look like a gun safety. Looks aside, I feel comfortable carrying this knife in the wilderness as a primary blade. It has all the benefits of a large sheath knife in a more compact folding form. The half-serrated edge and Tanto point make it a perfect survival blade, giving you the capability to saw and cut rope while keeping the tactical advantage of the sword-point. The blade is coated with Titanium Nitride making it resistant to corrosion. In all, a 9 out of 10...would recommend it to any outdoorsman. Only drawback is the size, depending on where you work, it might be too large to be considered a "pocket knife."

Great EDC blade
I keep giving these away to friends and then I have buy another one. Itโs really a replacement for a small sheath knife as itโs fairly large, but not as heavy. Very sharp. Great handle. Iโve also had the less expensive plastic handle version, but the aluminum is much better. You can adjust the tension so it stays closed in your pocket.

Great Knives
Picked these up as grooms gifts as I wasn't going to give out tupperware or socks with their names on them. I read some of the reviews that said they are fairly sharp but could be sharper. Well, I know the ones I received were plenty sharp. With in 20min one of the grooms had stabbed a hole in his shorts, which I'm still confused about, as this knife has a decent detent when closed. Then another sent me a picture after returning home (included). He said he didn't feel the cut (sign of a quality sharp knife) but saw blood. First and last pictures are of both the M16-14SF (described/Bottom) and the M16-10KSF (Top) for size comparison. The 14SF is a little larger than expected but as I purchased one for myself I now carry mine every day. The LAWKS system, personally I think it's a neat feature but don't necessarily see it as a must have. Closing with one hand is something that took a little getting used to, but have become very proficient in opening and closing the knife. I would just practice while watching TV and still do every once in a while, but paying close enough attention as to not loose any blood. It's become second nature now, I don't have to even think about it. Very well built knife that has a 4 way adjustable clip for carrying in any position. I am definitely not a knife aficionado but would strongly recommend this knife to anyone looking for a quality knife.

best knife ever.
This is my fourth CRKT knife over about 10 years. Ive loved this brand since i picked up my first. This big dog is much bigger than the regular m16 series. Took a couple of weeks to get used to the size in my pocket, but now its great. The handle isnt very grippy, so thats where the "true hilt" comes in so you dont cut yourself. All crkt knives are very easy to take apart and clean. They do get very dirty inside quickly, so i clean and lubricate mine every couple of months. Also, the aus8 steel that they use in this knife is incredibly stronger than the aus4 in most low end m16 models. The double lock sometimes gets onmy nerves so i took mine out on this knife. makes it less safe but easier to operate with one hand. Have had this knife for over 6 months now and its an EDC that i carry and use every singe day. The beveled edge makes sharpening a breeze and one minute long. Holds an edge great.

Hefty knife - Don't kid yourself, this is a weapon!
It's a big frickin' knife. I have big hands, and it still has some pommel sticking out. I wouldn't call this an "EDC" knife, which for me means a comfortable box cutter. This is a pocket fighting knife. The blade geometry and double guard lends itself to functioning as a stab-and-slash knife. But if you're the kind of person who carries a gun every day like I do, you might as well carry a good folding combat knife too! A few downsides. The action is not bearing-smooth, so you have to give it a good flick to get it open. The thumb studs are useless because they're flush with the frame, and if you try to use them, the guard will catch you on your index finger. The lock-open mechanism activates automatically, unlike older versions of this knife. So you have to get used to two-handed closing while you press the unlock catch while pressing the liner lock aside. The pocket clip is very stiff, so it really hangs onto your pocket. It will take some breaking in and practice to make it a smoothly deploying knife. I have no use for serrations, but there's not a version of this knife at this size without them. And if I have to have serrations, I'll take the tri-point instead of the veff. Aside from that, it's made well, very sturdy, nice finish and good steel. This is my fifth CRKT knife, and I like it. I'd like to try the M16-10 smaller version too. But again, this is not what I'd call an EDC gentleman's knife. It's a beast!
