Telesonic White Quartz Wall Clock w/Quiet Sweep Second Hand

Revised review for nearly 3 months of usage:Purchased this to replace a 19-year-old Seth Thomas 8-inch kitchen clock, powered by now defunct American-made General Time Corporation mechanism that finally stopped working. There isn't much info about Telesonic but I am familiar with the name and this beautiful timepiece was a perfect match - white on white with a very quiet sweeping motion second hand. The clock felt very sturdy and solid comprised of heavy-grade ABS plastic housing. So far it has been running fairly well, with the exception of gaining about a second every 3-4 days. The 'Shinfuku' movement is very quiet but I'd much prefer a Youngtown 12888 similar to my 11" Bai Wall Clock, mainly for its extreme accuracy - literally without losing or gaining a second since 2011! But on the plus side, the Shinfuku movement is much more quieter than the Youngtown even though both are 'sweep' movements. Before purchasing, I've compared the Telesonic to many, and what I wanted was an overall 10-inch quiet-movement clock with a white frame and white face that is easy to read from afar. This has met all the criteria.The only issue I am having now after just shy of my third month of usage the clock has gained about 50 seconds faster, so this means it will run about 4 minutes ahead every year if left alone. Now I can get away with this by correcting it during DST season.

The only reason I gave this clock a 4 instead of a 5 is because it was too big for the space I intended to put it (in an old 50's style kitchen) and that was my fault for not measuring first. This clock is quiet with a nice sweeping second hand. I wish I had had another place to put it. The return was easy and the credit was put back on to my account promptly. When I called for return questions I talked with a polite helpful gentleman. I would definitely order from this company again. Another reviewer mentioned that this clock has a glass front. I didn't find that to be the case. The one I had was a heavy clear plastic, light weight but of good quality for the price point .

It's not perfectly silent, but it's much more quiet than most clocks you'll find. It keeps good time and looks reasonably good in the kitchen.

Sadly, we are returning this clock. It has not kept time since arriving, despite trying several different new batteries. Just a defective one I guess, because we ordered the black version and loved it so much we decided to order another. The clock is silent, no whirring or ticking noise at all, but if a clock can't keep time, it is worthless.

I recently returned a Bai Clock which had a defective hour hand that wouldn't stay in place, and the loud tick, tick, tick was so annoying it could make a sane person go mad.I lucked out that the Bai Clock was defective because the return shipping was free!The Telesonic Clock is refreshingly quiet, simple yet stylish. Love it!Perfect size for my 1950's kitchen which has a built in electrical socket up in the bulkhead.* Please note: The Telesonic Quiet Sweep Clock is battery operated... I just wanted to cover up that electrical socket.I like the glass face, and the white plastic has a somewhat matte finish so you don't really notice it's plastic, pretty neutral.

It is quiet, wonderfully quiet. The others I have tick, Tick, TICK !!! Argh !!! This silent one is wonderful. It keeps good time. It looks pretty good. It is very readable from across the room. I wish I had found it first instead of the ones that tick, Tick, TICK !!! I wish they also made a smaller one for locations in my place that aren't spacious enough for a clock this size. So in those spots I have tick, Tick, TICK. Ugh! I would buy this again, and if the ticking ones fail, I will buy more of these silent clocks. 5 star.

I ordered this clock twice and both times it arrived 'black' instead of 'white'. Returned them both and gave up.

Ahh, a nice, QUIET clock with a second hand, and one that--wonderfully--sweeps. It's relaxing to watch. And not having an annoyingly loud "TICK" sound--or any "tick" sound, for that matter--is also refreshingly wonderful. The clock has a simple, attractive appearance and is easy to read. It seems to be keeping pretty good time, also. A good value for the price. It was shipped very quickly and arrived well packaged and intact. By the way, the round sticker that is shown on the clock face peeled off very easily, without leaving any adhesive residue or scratches behind. Thank you for this product!
