In the first house that my sweet husband and I owned we had a small backyard garden with a picket fence. We built this fence one Christmas. Having been built by two engineers with an artistic bent, it was very straight, sturdy, and architecturally interesting. Our back bedroom windows looked out on this field of cosmos in the spring.
