Kawasaki KLR650 2008-2017 (Clymer Motorcycle)

I have the Kawasaki shop manual for my KLR 650, but I bought the Clymer manual because some things are explained in better more simple terms with better pictures than the factory shop manual. I do have post graduate level work completed with a 3.98/4.0 GPA, so reading ability is not an issue.Even though this is my second KLR 650 and have been doing most of my own mechanic work for over 35yrs, I still research the Internet and consult shop manuals before doing most mechanical or electrical work. Clymer is a source I trust.

Has the info you need in an easy to use format. I tried a digital version first, but print is so much easier to use.

A must have for a new (or experienced) KLR owner. Just buy it. You'll need it.

The Clymer manual covers everything from basic maintenance to complete teardown and rebuilding. It includes helpful suggestions for doing most jobs without the special factory tools. It even has color coded wiring diagrams. Unless you are a working professional motorcycle technician, you don’t need the factory manual.

It's a damn good manual.

Incomplete torque specs. Incomplete description information, in some cases, needed to solve trouble shooting. But, it’s better than nothing. Good addition to the owners manual.

Clymer manuals have always paid for themselves by providing pertinent service information that saved me both in money for a service at my local Kawasaki dealer and providing clear instructions with relevant photos that guided me through the particular steps of my repair. One need only slow down and read the book and it's references.

This manual has been invaluable to me in performing maintenance/upgrades to my 2011 KLR 650. I bought my bike used and didn't get any type of owners manual or manufacturer paperwork for maintaining it. There are a lot of forums on the internet where you can find answers to about any question you have on the KLR, but it's so much more convenient and satisfying to just open up my Clymer manual and get the answers for myself. I've got frequently referenced pages, for more regularly performed tasks, highlighted and marked, making the process extremely convenient and fast. The manual is extremely detailed and pretty easy to read. If you own a Gen 2 KLR this would be a great addition to your garage.

Good book

Arrived in good time and undamaged. It’s a Clymer manual so if you’ve used them before you know what you’re getting. Good accurate information for almost all required jobs on you’re bike and logically laid out. Always wish there were more coloured pics but what can you do!
