Very good materials and the mechanism is well built. Like really well built. This bin will last a lifetime or more. Rubbermaid always delivers and is always worth the price. Don't risk buying some slightly cheaper non branded crap that is very likely to break after a while- they don't have a brand name to protect and only care about keeping you happy until the return period ends. Rubbermaid makes good products and WILL last you forever (I work at a child care facility and our Rubbermaid step bins have been abused for decade+ and still work like new).

Worth the price. Perfect size for tight spaces. Pedal to open is secure and good quality. Easy open with self close. Secure on the floor, won’t tip over. Convenient lift away liner for cleaning. Bonus my dogs CANNOT open this lid. I my buy a second one.

Is a $150 trash can ridiculous? Probably. Is this exactly what I wanted? Yes, so I'm still very happy with this purchase. I moved into a home with a small kitchen and knew that I wanted a trashcan that would match the finish of the existing appliances, be slim enough to fit in a specific corner, and not open on the side because trash would be coming in from the front. I know this is slightly ocd, but I also hate the look of the trash bag peeking under lids. Well, this checked all the boxes-- the specific charcoal (not black or stainless steel) finish, lids butterfly open from the top, slim and sleek design, and the trash bag is always hidden when closed. I'm not 100% if it's smudge proof, mostly because I almost never have a reason to touch the outside of the trashcan itself. It arrived a bit early with no dents. Recommend.

Didn't want to drop this much money on a trash can but it's a good sturdy unit. Material is legit. It uses the standard kitchen trash bags but I feel like it uses the entire bag. I think the can is a little bigger than some of the similar ones. The previous trash can seemed a little small but this lets me full the bag all the way.

I bought the Elite Slim dark stainless version with the manual pedal on one end. It arrived just fine, double boxed for protection. The first thing I noticed was that it's quite heavy- and that's due to a solid build quality. It opens and closes easily. The pedal action is smooth and quiet with no loose jiggles of any kind. The butterfly type opening is wide and makes dropping things in a breeze. There's a solid inner plastic liner that your bag goes into, unlike the SimpleHuman Sensor Cans I have, so you should never have a mess in the main can. I'm not sure when trash cans got turned into pricey items like they are, but for $20-40 dollars less than the SimpleHuman equivalent this is a better deal and the overall construction is as good or better. Time will tell and if anything goes south I'll update my review to reflect it.
