Soft CableWhen the cable hits the floor, it loses some momentum. If the cable is stiff, it will not deform to make it around your feet. A stiff cable bounces off the floor which reduces the amount of room you have. The cable is coated to reduce wear, friction on the floor, and fraying. As an extra benefit, it hurts a lot less. The cable can also be adjusted if you don't cut off too much when you initially size it. As your technique improves, you can fine tune the rope until it's perfect for you.Low Resistance and StabilityThe bearings and gimbal specced on the Mk.1 work together to reduce resistance. The bearings are FAST and more of your energy goes towards spinning the cable (efficiency). The gimbal maintains the arc of cable in motion regardless of how you hold the handles. Ropes without a gimbal tire out your forearms quicker because you are fighting against the centrifugal force. The gimbal lets the cable maintain a path of least resistance. It's simple physics! Weighted HandlesThe handles are 100% aluminum with the center hollowed out. The weight of these handles allows you to transfer more momentum into the cable. A plastic handled skipping rope is like a feather weight boxer, very fast but no power. The handles of the Mark 1 are like a heavy weight boxer, slower but lots of power. This makes it easier to spin the cable at the right rhythm. To safely hold onto it, the grip of the handles has barbell knurling with a silicone ring to assist with sweaty hands.Storage BagThe bag is a cordura-style material with a draw-string. It's perfect to store the Mark 1 and throw in your gym bag. The worst thing is a loose rope in your gym bag and when you grab it, everything comes with it. The cable does not have a memory, it'll pop out and be in perfect shape every time. Assuming the little gremlins from the pocket dimension didn't mysteriously tangle it up. Jerks.
