Returned because it was useless for its intended purpose
I returned the MedAngel thermometer because it was useless for our purposes. I was looking for a thermometer that would monitor the medicine in the refrigerator and alert us when the temperate was outside the required parameters. Unfortunately, MedAngel only worked when I stood with the phone right outside the refrigerator - a few feet away and I had a 'no signal' message. In addition, the device does not store any data, so for the period of time when I was in the other room and out of range, the data was not recorded at all. Instead I purchased a thermometer device for $8 and it displays the temperate on the device and stores the low and high range. This device isn't perfect because there's no alert, but at least I know my medicine was within range. I had a lot of hope MedAngel would give me the peace of mind I needed for storing the medicine, unfortunately it turned out to be useless.

Not practical
To use this product you need to be within bluetooth range of the device. If you travel and keep it close then this product is for you but if you want to keep tabs on a fridge with medical items inside you will only get a reading if the phone is close. If they had a server that connected to the phone so you could view the temperature remotely then this product would absolutely be worth it but in its current state its a sophisticated paperweight.

Great for traveling
I will never travel without MedAngel, it truly made our travels more enjoyable. My husband and I traveled for over two months in Europe this summer and MedAngel was with us every step of the way.The support we received from MedAngel was excellent. Laura Kramer sent us a detailed email with great information concerning traveling with medications and answered all our questions and concerns. As Laura suggested we tried MedAngel out prior to leaving on our trip and one of the first things MedAngel alerted us to was the fact that we had too many ice packs and my medication was way too cold, something we would have never realized without MedAngel. So we stored our extra ice packs away from the medication and added them as needed while traveling on long flights or warm car rides. When we arrived at a hotel or bed and breakfast, the staff was always super helpful about refreezing the ice packs and storing my refrigerated medication, though I was always concerned that it wouldn't be done properly. With MedAngel, I was able to "check on" my medication periodically. Many times MedAngel would reach our room, other times when you walked into the lobby or bar area MedAngel would pick up the signal. At one hotel in Ireland, I was told they could not find my medication, it was NOT in the refrigerator...I could tell them with the utmost certainty that my medication was in that refrigerator... because I was connected to MedAngel. With MedAngel we could relax and enjoy our travels without the added worry about my medication. I can not begin to express how satisfied I am with MedAngel… it continues to watch over my medication everyday.Thank you Laura and the MedAngel Team!!

If you have a job, save your money.
Seems to have no memory and errors whenever it connects saying that it wasn’t connected to my phone. They seem to assume that diabetics can’t possibly be employed and leave the house bc it’s a Bluetooth device that only shows current temp. No tracking at all. If I go to work and my power goes out, but comes on before I come home, this device won’t tell me. It’ll just error saying “Wasn’t able to connect via Bluetooth lolz.”Kinda pointless, as a $3 thermometer would accomplish the same thing.Save your money. If you’re technically inclined, there is a Raspberry Pi temp sensor project that connects to WiFi and would be 10x better than this.

Love this item
Love this item! Great peace of mind! The MedAngel sensors were very handy to have along with us while we traveled. We used them in our Frio Packs while on the road and put one of them in the fridge at each hotel we stayed at to ensure the temperature was safe for storing our unopened insulin. We even use them to tested the mini fridge at the camp my daughter is staying at for the next month and found that they did not have the temperature set low enough (it was set at 57 degrees F and it should have been between 36-46 degrees F). We ended up buying the camp a refrigerator thermometer and they now have the temp set to 40 degrees F and will continue to monitor the temperature more closely from now on. I'm so glad we checked the fridge temperature at the camp with the MedAngel since we and other folks had a lot of expensive medication that needed to be stored at the right temperature for up to a month. As mentioned by another reviewer, be sure to gently open the battery compartment with a coin by turning it slightly to the left to line up with the left line at the top of the battery compartment otherwise you can easily strip the groove that the coin fits into. Also, one of the two sensors we purchased wasn't working when it arrived but MedAngel quickly sent another one to us which we received in time for our trip. Their customer service was great and we are really pleased with the product!

Useful for traveling
This is a generally ok product which gives you the temperature for your insulins and lets you put in which insulin you're using and which mode (using or unopened). My main problem with this product is that it doesn't automatically sync with the phone app and even when you have the app pulled up it still doesn't sync and takes 3-4 mins to do so with no manual option of doing so. It's really annoying because it takes so long to sync and there's no way to do it yourself. Other than that great customer service that reached out to me personally after purchase.

Takes the worries out of traveling with my insulin.
I have three of these to track temperature on my insulin: one in the fridge, one in my carry case and one in a small chiller I use during hot weather. Works great, helped me get the temperature setting and location in my fridge optimized, and it's essential when travelling - for example had a situation where the car with my luggage was getting hot even in moderate weather. Gave me enough warning to turn on the AC and save a vial. One of the three units failed after a few months. The company replaced it promptly.

Doesn't work and bad customer service.
Truly appalling customer care. The sensor worked for 3 weeks and then suddenly stopped working. I contacted the support team who replied with a suggestion, this didn't fix the problem, I followed up with 5 further emails asking for support, and and if I could send back the sensor so they could see if they could fix it. I received no response at all. I had hoped to purchase a second sensor following the initial success and piece of mind, so we could have one in the fridge and one for when we were out and about to ensure my sons insulin was always safe. Despite thinking they are a fantastic concept, the fact that they don't reply to my emails means I cannot bring myself to spend the money on a second in the hope I would have more success.

Stops working after a few days, frustrating and unreliable with poor customer support
This is the second Med Angel I’ve tried, the first one stopped working after a few days, I got in touch with the company to report the problem, but when they couldn’t work out what was wrong, they just stopped replying to my emails. I returned it, thinking I’d received a faulty sensor, and bought another, but the same thing has happened again with this one, they just don’t seem to be reliable enough, particularly not when the storage of essential medication is involved. So I’ll be returning this one too, it’s such a shame, as it’d be a great product if it just worked!

Unreliable.
Totally unreliable, huge gaps in data which means Insulin is not monitored. No updates to App. This will NOT protect your medications.

Faulty
The MedAngel One is a brilliant idea for a product but I’ve had this under a year and the sensor has lost signal and the battery has run low. I have tried everything to get it to reconnect and it won’t work. Seems to be nothing in the troubleshooting section about loss of signal, I am waiting on a response from MedAngel One. Do not expect to pay a lot of money on something that in under a year stops working.

Expensive with really poor reliability
Great idea and, if working, is great. However it rarely works. Also destroys my iPhone battery life. Now completely dead. AVOID
