The Demon's Bargain (A Deal With A Demon)

Another book by Katee Robert that I couldn't put down.Willing to make a bargin with a demon to get her family's amulet back, Lenora gets more then she ever expected. Especially with Ramanu who is half bargainer demon and half gargoyle. There is more to this demon then meets the eye.I enjoyed the balance and relationship between Lenora and Ramanu. The way the feelings came quickly, especially more so from Rumanu then Lenora was nice.Lenora was a character that was strong, but vulnerable even if Ramanu was the only one to sense it. She's a witch on a mission to do what it takes.One of my favorite parts though small is the fact that neither Lenora nor Ramanu want children. I'm so happy to see this detail mentioned. It's refreshing to find characters who say they have no desire to procreate. I wish more authors embraced this instead of making them all want babies. Babies to me ruin a good story.

This was such a fun, quick read! I loved the love and respect between our two MCs, and the representation of a nonbinary main character. Can’t wait for more in this universe!

KC Rating: 🍁🍁🍁🍁 /🌶.5If you are new to Katee Robert's books that you'll have no idea who Ramanu is, but if you've read the Dragon's Bride and loved the demon that was enjoying riling our cutie pie Sol up, then you're in luck because this book is about him.And let's be honest, I had no idea what I was signing up to when I heard about the kickstarter for Shadow market, I thought it was a great initiative by authors and was on the bandwagon to support them how I could. And if all other 5 books are like this one, I lucked out! This will be enjoyable month!If you didn't know about the kickstarter, don't worry, this specific title will be released on 4 October 2022, and you can pre-order it now on amazon (or where you prefer to read it)!Now, did I enjoy this quick read, yes absolutely, did I grab a pen and paper when pegging was mentioned? Yup, I for sure did! Did I think that Ramanu fell in love with Lorena a bit too fast for my liking yup, hence only 4 leaves, but overall it was a great read. I would have also preferred to see Lorena more in her dark witch element (another reason why I couldn't give solid 5 leaves), but I did enjoy her character! She's bloodthirsty with morals and that's the best kind you can get!Overall, it's a great read and I hope you grab your copy once it becomes available!Spoiler/rant zone (read at your own risk):Now, this is something that I'm not sure all books will have but my copy included an extra epilogue, and 1. it was definitely (in my opinion) foreshadowing the second book in the deal with the demon where we'll be getting a kraken (october can't come soon enough) and 2. was that the minotaur from Dark Olympus series? If anyone has read the extended epilogue and has some thoughts let me know!XOXOKatie
