I Hate Fairyland Volume 5: Gert's Inferno

I fell in love with Gert during the first half of the series. My kids took to reading my books when they were in middle school. If you haven't read Gert's story as a kid, you might want to back up and start there. She's a terror and we love it! We're all super excited to get more Gert, and being able to purchase it in condensed volumes makes it the most readable for us (we tend to lose individual comics.) Looking forward to more.

Was so excited when I saw Scottie was continuing Gert's story as an adult. I've been waiting since last year for all 5 isssues to be collected into one volume, and was surprised to see it was actually arriving earlier than expected. Although they did push the release already...anyway, the story and art never fail to impress! Includes a bonus special song to listen to while reading which was a pretty clever, and fun idea. I don't normally recommend things, but I Hate Fairyland is a very special story with a unique style that makes me think of my favorite childhood cartoons in the 90s/early 2000's. It's weird, funny, nasty, violent, and just plain amazing! I believe this is a must read!

I thought after the last book that this story would end and was sad. Then I saw this and didn't know what to expect. I'm very happy with how they continued it and can't wait for more!

We are back with Gert and it's still such a fun comic! You do feel a bit of the change to Bean's art but he is a great artist too. The essence of the first series is still here. The QR code for the music on issue #5 is one of the best things I've seen in comics.

This series is so brutal and funny, and brutally funny, I just adore it.Since Gert returned to Earth at the end of issue 20 (spoilers, I know!), she's now an adult struggling to survive in the real world, until she's hired to return to Fairyland.This volume encompasses issues 20 to 25. Gert has some new companions, faces new enemies, and in one issue, loses her mind--even moreso than usual. This is a must-read if you've enjoyed the first 20 I Hate Fairyland comics.
