Works well in a vertical placement
I need this to keep critters out of a 4" corrugated drainpipe. I didn't realize it will only sit on top of a pipe. There's no features to attach it to a horizontal pipe like mine. This is my fault for not reading the description thoroughly. I used a self-tapping screw to hold this in place and it works nicely.

No chipmunks
Best way to keep chipmunks away!! Easy fit to plastic drainage pipe extenders.

fit the bill
seems to work well so far. I used 2 in horizontal orientation to for drains on a hillside. I used electrical tape to secure them as I one wouldn't fit into my corrugated pipe and the solid pvc pipe was tight but I didn't want it to potentially blow out during a heavy downpour. One star deducted because it didn't fit 4" corrugated as snugly as preferred

Keeps the serpents out of my gutter drains.
Bought 2 of these to keep snakes out of my gutter drains. The only drawback is that while they keep the snakes out, they are clogged with leaves after 3-4 good rains. I tried using duct tape at first to keep the water pressure from pushing them out of the drain. Not a good fix when they have to be cleaned out. My solution was to run a small screw through this cap into the plastic drain pipe and it holds well, is easy to remove to clean out.
