Works great
I engrave and cut heavily with my laser. I was worried as I've heard others say they still have fumes etc. We did add an inline fan with a 4" hose and mine is a short run to the window. However it works great! I do get small smells that linger from time to time when cutting wood or leather, but it's workable and not enough to make my office smell. It is durable and very easy to put together and take apart if needed. I will add that the straps that hold the one side up when open, crapped out quickly but that doesn't bother me nor defect it at all.

Good Company
I had a few concerns about this product and they took care of them.I was contacted by XTool and was real pleased with the way they handled my concerns and they are working to improve this item. Thank you Sharon for all your help!

Good enclosure!
This enclosure is very nice. Great quality, you can only very very faintly smell anything from the engraver with it. It is definitely expensive, but it soo much better than not having one. If you have the extension kit, you NEED this thing!

Expected more from XTool
I bought this because I recently purchased an extended bed laser. I had a much cheaper enclosure that was designed much better for my standard size laser, but they did not make one that would accommodate my new extended bed laser. For the cost of this product and the fact that it comes from XTool, I expected a high quality product but it is absolutely not worth the money. The design is awful, it's flimsy and clumsy to use. For three hundred dollars I would have expected it to be much more rigid and substantial, not just velcro attachments on the panel ends. They tout it as being portable and easily moveable, but who really moves an extended bed laser around ? In it's present form I would look elsewhere, if you need a standard size I'd recommend the Brovr enclosure, Simple, effective and priced well.

Felt ripped off
I am in the process of getting my small business created and I love the xtool products that make it easy for me to get started but I have to say they should nevet sell this product.1. If your getting started and buy the standard xtool d1 pro, buy the extension cover too even though you think its to big. Heres a pro tip, its the regular size sold with the extra pieces in them to extend it. I wasted money buying the standard size cuz its litterly the same thing. This leads to its flaws when you decide to extend your kit.2. The fan that come with it will work fine when you have your machine not extended but when extended and you have bigger burning projects the fan is weak and will not clear the cover. To cure this i had to buy a ventilation fan ($80 ac infinity brand) to connect my hose from the machine to one end of the fan and the out end a hose connected to out the window.3. When assembled you will see a ton of gaps where the smoke from your projects will comeout if you didnt upgrade with the vent fan.4. The cover will impede on how they instructed you to ziptie your wires on the machine. Be aware of that, not to bad but i can see it could irk people5. I work in a office in my apartment so i run the vent out the window but when i ran it doing a long burn project even with my upgrades i still needed an attachment for my window for my vent to connect to ($25) so smoke wont drift back in. It got so bad in 5 mins i had to stop working and wait for this window vent attachment to come.Pros:-Great purchase for the standard kit so you pay one time if you decide to extend.-95% of the laser light is blocked so its safe around my anyone incase they pop in real quick.Cons:-Price is unreasonable i had to pay and extra $100+ to fix the problems this was supposed to fix-Lots of gaps had to use duct tape to really seal it-weak fan-Smoke will escape unless you do more to prevent it.Closing thoughts, not good if you have it in the house unless you have proper ventilation. Im sure this will be perfect for a workshop or garage where you can open it up. If it was actually made just for the extension with solid sides and a better top stronger fan then I would give it a higher rating. I felt i bought a expensive box sadly for my needs.

Could fit a little better but overall works fine
Wish they included some gap filler tape of some kind but even without it there's barely any smoke leakage

Difficult to use but overall good idea
This enclosure is essential to drastically improve the safety features of the Xtool D1, which can effortlessly cause blindness looking at the light while its burning, as well as preventing fires and smoke/ dust removal.Unfortunately it was designed very badly. There seems no correct way to put it together. I had to make it fit in a weird fashion to work for what I needed. The panels should be able to be swapped around so you can put the exhaust fan on any side, but they all seem to be different and I could not find any guide on which one is supposed to go where. The exhaust fan works good. I can tell it was doing a decent job removing dust and smoke. I still kept an air purifier in the room because there were some odors. The yellow laser radiation blocking film is good because this laser can easily cause blindness if you stare at the light while its working. Unfortunately you can't see anything in the enclosure because of it, and can not see if its marking the right spot without opening the enclosure because of the angle. It would be good if they included some kind of light inside so you can see what is going on, and maybe a side panel so you can see if the operation is making the correct spot on multiple passes to not cause ripples. If you are planning on using the Xtool D1 I would consider this or a d.i.y. version essential to making the laser much safer from the real hazard of blindness, fires, and harmful dust/ smoke removal. It is so essential that it is almost sketchy that they sell the D1 as just a CNC without an enclosure, putting people at serious risk of eye injury to save a bit of money. I want to emphasize how quickly and painlessly you could become blind when watching these lasers burning! Not worth the high risk to save $200
