Excellent rehydration salts
Very good product, excellent value for money, 4 months supply at 2g per day. Contains no glucose which means you can add your own to increase absorption if you so chose. Yes its mostly sodium since sodium assists cellular hydration by maintaining the proper balance of fluid in cells and preventing dehydration and is the main element lost in sweat. Of course sodium, magnesium and other electrolytes don't taste great and being salts they are salty! but it is what it is, you can't make base elements taste like chocolate milkshake without adding a whole load of rubbish so best get used to it.

Unflavoured but rank.
Unflavoured but rank beyond belief. Once you push through the first couple of sips it does get a little better but still. Unflavoured should be tasteless but instead you just get a mouthfull of sad. Get flavoured instead. Lesson learned.

Good quality electrolyte hydration.
Good to drink, still a flowing powder after a few weeks. Unsweetened. (Good that it has not clumped or solidified together as a rock (Berg one), better and cheaper than the Berg artificial sweetened one).

Work fine but very salty
Work fine but very salty. OK they are salts so as expected but mostly sodium so takes a bit of effort to swallow. I was mostly looking for the magnesium so have found a better alternative (same brand)

Imbalanced, Suboptimal Electrolyte Powder: Poor Value, Especially for Keto/Low-Carb
I'm significantly underwhelmed and genuinely concerned by the formulation of this Horbaach Electrolyte Powder, priced at ยฃ12.99. For this cost, it offers very poor value given its serious issues, especially considering it's marketed for Keto & Fasting / Low-Carb diets. While it contains basic electrolytes, the proportions and forms used are, in my opinion, highly problematic and not suitable for optimal hydration or health. Specifically, there's an excessive amount of sodium (519.8mg) relative to potassium (153.2mg) and magnesium (15mg). This creates a highly imbalanced potassium:sodium ratio of roughly 1:3.4. Such high sodium without adequate balance from potassium and magnesium (which should ideally be 1:1 or more potassium to sodium, and much higher magnesium, especially for individuals on low-carb diets who often require significantly more of these) can be counterproductive and potentially lead to issues like increased thirst, confusion, or other adverse effects. A major omission is bicarbonate, which is essential for regulating the body's pH balance and preventing excessive acidity in the blood โ a fundamental role often overlooked in these supplements. Furthermore, the forms of minerals used are concerning. Magnesium is present as magnesium oxide (15mg), which has very poor bioavailability and is more likely to cause laxative effects than actual cellular absorption; 15mg is also an extremely low dose. Similarly, potassium (as potassium sulphate) and calcium (as dicalcium phosphate) are not ideal forms for absorption. Functional health practices generally prefer citrate or glycinate forms for better absorption of magnesium, potassium, and calcium. For a product marketed as an electrolyte powder for specific dietary approaches like Keto and Low-Carb, this formulation appears to prioritize basic inclusion over physiological balance, proper absorption, and comprehensive electrolyte support. It falls far short for anyone seeking a truly effective and well-formulated electrolyte supplement for optimal hydration and well-being.
