best photo printer with a few things to know.
I have two of these one for home and one for travel with the battery [make sure you get the canon battery made in japan] if you travel with it get the case. one thing to note is leave the ink cassette out of the printer when not in use, when you want to print then put in the ink, this keeps it from resetting and wasting the ink. spoke to canon and they recommended this also. asked why it does that and was told that it is just how it works. it is no problem to take the ink out along with the paper tray which you have to do anyway. if you have to leave the ink in then you will lose about 9 ink sections for printing. [you will have 9 sheets left from the print pack]. when loading paper into the tray use one pack 18 sheets, more than that may jam the printer. ALL THIS BEING SAID, THE PRINTS YOU GET ARE AWESOME. there is a learning curve with this printer as there is with any piece of technology. I hop all this helps. canon has live help available which is great when doing setup. Found out from Canon the WHEN YOU HAVE THE INK IN THE PRINTER AND TURN IT ON, IT ADVANCES THE INK ONE PICTURE TO KEEP IT TIGHT. TO AVOID WASTING INK, WHEN FINISHED PRINTING, PUSH THE INK CASSETTE EJECT BUTTON AND LET IT SLIDE OUT A BIT THEN SHUT THE INK CASSETTE DOOR LEAVING THE INK CASSETTE SLACK AND NOT PUSHED ALL THE WAY IN. THE NEXT TIME YOU TURN THE PRINTER ON IT WILL TELL YOU THAT THERE IS NO INK. JUST PUSH IT ALL THE WAY IN THE LOCK IT IN PLACE. WHEN FINISHED PRINTING JUST PRESS EJECT AND SHUT THE DOOR. REPEAT THE START UP PROCESS NEXT TIME YOU WANT TO PRINT OTHERWISE YOU WILL USE UP A SECTION OF INK EVERY TIME YOU TURN THE PRINTER ON. hope this helps.

Awesome little printer!!
I love this little printer!!! It's so easy to use, the app that goes along with it makes it very simple to print from your phone! I used this at a party and had 2 people asking me where I got it because they also liked it. The quality of the photos are phenomenal! Bright colors, clear pictures! I love it and I'm so happy it was recommended to me!

Pleasantly Surprised
Easy to set up, easy to connect. Make sure you download the app. I used a Samsung and had no issues. Load the ink, it only fits one way. Open the clear top on the paper compartment, load paper glossy side up, put top back on, lift up the front half and slide into the printer body until both sides click. The paper pushes out the back and front several passes, make sure you have room behind the printer. The colors are slightly muted, but overall I'm happy. It basically looks and feels like an old school 4x6 print. I was worried you'd be able to see the score marks on the sides after ripping off the white edges, but they actually pop of cleanly with almost no marks and no tearing the paper. -- UPDATE -- I'm lowering my review by 1 star for the muted colors. Overall I'm happy with the printer, but I wish the tones were a little more vibrant. I tried oversaturating images before printing to see if it would make a difference and it didn't. Also, the app gives you an option to auto correct and sharpen the image. Without that option the picture has an almost soft blurr, with the option some of the images looked artificially crisp.

they all have that line, don't look for it.
the line is more/less apparent depending on the photo, it seems to be there with most if not all of these printers, but it's not super noticeable unless you're looking for it. I didn't see it until i read reviews mentioning it. Doesn't ruin the picture, and on most of them it's imperceptible.Overall the printer is great, you can get the battery for it for portability, you can get cases for cheap, and consumables really aren't that expensive, about 25-30 cents a print. The printer uses dye sublimation, so the photos come out really nice, with excellent colors, great sharpness. The semi gloss/matte finish is a cool feature, though i think the semi gloss is about as far as you wanna push it.The canon website will tell you what consumables you need for your printer, but for the 1500 i'll break it down for you.---Every pack of sheets and ink comes with exactly enough to print all photos. It's a dye sublimation printer, not an ink jet printer, not a toner cartridge printer. for the RP108, you get 108 sheets, and 2 cartridges with enough film to produce exactly 54 prints each.---Using the P tray that comes with the printer, you can do 4"x6" printsRP-108: Photo paper, 108 sheets, 2 high capacity cassettesKP-108IN: Photo paper, 108 sheets, 3 standard cassettes (the only difference between this and RP108)KP-108IP: Photo paper with pre printed postcard markings on back, 108 sheets, 3 standard cassettes---there are also other consumables, in C size 2.1"x3.4", but require purchase of a PCC-CP400 paper tray:KC-36IP: Photo paper, 36 sheets, 1 cassetteKC-18IF: photo Label paper (stickers), whole sheet is a sticker, 18 sheets, 1 cassetteKC-18IL: photo Label paper (stickers), sheet is divided to 8 stickers, 18 sheets, 1 cassetteKC-18IS: photo Label paper (stickers), sheet is divided to 2 square stickers, 18 sheets, 1 cassette---and last, L size, 3.5x4.7", requires purchase of PCPL-CP400 paper tray (which will also do KP/RP 4x6, idk why they didn't just ship all of the printers with this tray.):KL-36IP, 3.5x4.7" photo paper, 36 sheets, 1 cassetteHopefully this is helpful, and saves you from having to figure out your consumable options.
