Heinlein would be proud
Had Heinlein written this story, it would be called one of his "juveniles." I bought it because of Travis Taylor as one of the authors. Truly no offense Ms. Nye, I enjoy your work, too,but I figured with Doc Taylor aboard the science would be first rate. It is.This is just what I needed, hard science fiction in a difficult to impossible environment in a hopeful , positive non- "post apocalyptic" world.A good story of bright young people sciencing the heck out of tough situations Good characters. Well told. Some humor. And some tantalizing use of "Em drives." Does this mean Taylor considers them truly feasible?

An engaging story for readers of all ages
This is a young adult book, but I bought it for myself because I liked the premise of the story. Moon Beam is probably a better depiction of near-future space exploration than many science fiction stories. The near-future of space exploration is not ships shooting at one another, but rather like Moon Beam a bunch of science and engineering geeks solving problems to do their job and sometimes just to stay alive.I found the story engaging and well paced.

Great adventure story.
Excellent story. A little hard to follow at times because of all the tech. language. But I was able to overlook that because the story kept me turning the pages.

Hard science fiction book for young adults.
Great hards science fiction suitable for young adults and a great read for everyone. It reminds me of the Heinlein juveniles I read as a kid a LONG time ago. A very worthy successor to that legacy

Great Scifi Adventure
The first book in this series was a very fun read, combining some likeable characters, some geeky science and some exciting adventure on the far side of the moon.

Reminds me of ...
Reminds me of the Heinlein juveniles such as the Stone family series. Just the right touch of adventure mixed with hard science.

Fantastic YA Space adventure.
This story is an engrossing and inspiring tale about teens working together to overcome great odds and growing into their roles. I love the idea of the Brightsparks, and the science aspect of the novel was very believable.

Young Adult Sci-Fi at it's FINEST!
I would have given a 5 star except that it was just TOO "goody-two-shoes" for 21st century teens, even if they ARE nerds. I know too many nerds & geeks to buy these near saints.Otherwise, this is EXCELLENT.

Bright Sparks Indeed😉!
It was probably one of the most entertaining sci-fi books that I have read in a looong time! While it may have been written for the young adult market, I found it very entertaining! Can't wait for the next book in the series! ( I sincerely hope that the authors are working on numbers 3, 4, and 5!)
