At any time I am at home, there is a drink within reach, whether that's a cup tea, coffee, juice, dishwater, beer or ginger ale. I'm a man of the beverage. This presents two problems. First, I am very familiar with the interior design of my bathroom, and secondly, I am always in need of a place to place my beverage. Cue my discovery of this very affordable coaster set by the good people at XiaoGongWenHua. Now every surface of my home is safe from the scuffing, staining onslaught of wave after wave of cups and glasses. Black goes with everything and silicone lasts. Plus, if you throw one down onto a surface just right, it makes a really satisfying slapping noise.

The condensation buildup and runoff from a 500ml glass with ice would leave too much water dripping onto it to handle. I would only use with smaller glasses / less chilled drinks
