Komi Can't Communicate, Vol. 23: Volume 23

Volume 23 of Komi Can't Communicate continues the story of Shoko Komi, a shy high student, and her longstanding quest to make 100 friends and, more recently, her potentially romantic relationship. This particular volume contains chapters 299 to 313.As is expected of this series, I found much of the artwork in this volume to be very good. All of the characters have great expressions, especially in this volume, that really emphasize the emotions that they are going through. The background art all around is good as well.This volume takes place over Valentine's Day when it is traditional for girls to give chocolates to boys that they like. Without going into spoilers for this volume, it is probably the most pivotal volume in the series so far. It can be said that this volume essentially concludes the volumes-long love triangle between Tadano, Komi, and Manbagi. Because of this, I found this volume to be a satisfying read that really made some of the lesser story arcs in previous chapters to be worth it.To conclude, this was one of the best volumes in this series in a while and I would recommend it to those that have enjoyed this series so far.
