Does not require any battery. Looks sturdy and good quality. I use it for counting japas, for which this is of great aid. Update: Counting is not reliable. Sometime the count is inaccurate when two wheels turn simultaneously rather than one

This is a good device or tool to have at work. I would recommend if you do a lot of counting physical items on a daily basis and don’t want to keep track in your head. This is a very simple product and it works. I would say this is the third or fourth time I have purchased this sort of item for my work Just over use I would say at work and damaging at work but the price is not bad to replace if it does break.
