DOVOShavette with Olivewood Handle

I’m a barber , and very heavy handed . This handle is so light weight, my clients said they could barely feel the blade on them at all. Easy to change out the blades . 10/10

After growing a quaranbeard, I was having problems getting the line straight on my cheeks, so I decided to try this. It works great for that. The handle is REALLY light, it feels almost like it's made out of balsa wood. It took me a bit to figure out how to load the blade into it, but once I got that, I've been fairly happy with it.I was disappointed with Amazon's packaging on this item. It comes in an aluminum case that would be quite nice to store it in, but Amazon put it in an envelope to ship it to me, so the top was dented when I got it. No damage to the contents, so it isn't a big deal, but I would have appreciated receiving the product without the dents.One thing to note is that there is a blade and an additional plastic insert under the foam in the container, don't throw it away. To load the blade, you have to break the double-edge blade in half and the plastic insert in the handle slides out of the end, then opens up like a folder. The broken half of the blade goes into the insert, with the notches on the little plastic pins in the insert. Close up the insert and then carefully slide it back into the handle.

I bought this product because it looked beautiful, and it truly is. However, the mechanism DOVO uses for loading new razor blades is extremely frustrating. DOVO's design includes a plastic slide insert that opens like a book. This insert is supposed to secure the razor blade by closing and pinching it in place. Once reinserted into the shavette razor, this should theoretically hold the blade securely. However, it absolutely fails to do so, and has given me a nice long slice on the my when the blade came undone while shaving. THANKS DOVO: Heck of a job! In fact, I recently spent 30 minutes trying to adjust it, ultimately resorting to using Scotch tape to keep everything in place—guess I'll have to put a spool of tape into my Dobb kit now. Seems secure for the moment, but caveat emptor!

I've had a few other shavettes. This one just feels off. The weight is strange, its a bit stiff. Feels like it could be easily broken.For beginners, I'd recommend getting Dovos cheaper ones. The metal and plastic shavettes just feel better.

Bon produit, de qualité, léger et relativement bien pensé.Cependant j'enlève une étoile car le bois est ultra sensible à l'eau... Dommage pour ce type d'objet.

Nachdem ich eine menge Spaß mit meinem neuen Rasiermesser hatte, dies aber nicht mit auf die Reise nehmen möchte, habe ich mich für Unterwegs für eine Shavette entschieden. Die Shavette liegt leider sehr leicht in der Hand und man schneidet sich auch leichter als mit einem Rasiermesser, da diese im Gegensatz zum Rasiermesser wenig Fehler verzeiht. Dafür ist die Rasur mit der Shavette sehr Gründlich, was ich mit dem Rasiermesser nicht so Gut hinbekomme. Das kann Allerdings daran liegen das mein Rasiermesser nur die Werksschärfe hat.Fazit: Ein richtiges Rasiermesser macht viel mehr Spaß aber für die Reise reicht eine Shavette.
