How big is the space where the microwave goes?

With the wine rack you only have 8 1/2” without the wine rack you would have 13 3/4”. I just measured mine for you! Hope this helps!

How far does the drawer pull out?

It open like a full drawer. It opens to 12 inches

The counter top feels like a thicker material than the rest of the product. Is it also MDF board?

All I know is we put it together and it has been quite serviceable. My daughter uses it for every kitchen duty from meal prep to using it with a drying mat to let her dishes dry. Easy clean up and looks great still after 4 months of daily use. Hope this helps!!
