A dream denied...
I recently adopted a lovely cat whose obvious and admirable mission in life was to make his canned food disappear as fast as possible and then puke all over my slippers, my couch, and my bed (all things that are a pain to clean vomit out of). I believe he was racing against himself to beat his time from the meal before.Tragically, this slow feed bowl has crushed his dreams of competing in the Rapid-Eating-Then-Barfing Olympics. He hasn't ralphed in over a week since the miracle bowl arrived, and I'm so happy! Cleaning it is fairly easy since the whole thing is very bendy silicone. The only (tiny) downside is that meal prep time takes longer now than just dumping a can in a bowl, but that's a price that I'll eagerly pay for a vomit-free apartment.

This is nice because the soft silicone wavy parts are flexible and ...
I got this for my cat because she eats too fast and makes herself throw up. She had another slow feed bowl in a different style, but it was too deep for her to really get her face in. This is nice because the soft silicone wavy parts are flexible and don’t scare her, she can just push her face between them if she needs to. Seems to be helping my fur baby

Hallelujah!!
Alright people listen up. We have a 19 year old cat Mia-Meow. She now shows no signs of death anytime soon and we love that. Here’s why. What we didn’t love was the way she inhaled her food in two point four seconds. She would then go down to my laundry room and yack. Not just once but multiple times, like she was trying to arrange her vomit piles to send me a message. I am not kidding when I would go down to clean her cat box there would legit be double digit piles of vomit. It’s like she was trying to see how many piles she could get in one room. She has had a difficult time jumping on our couch and her favorite chair and often just laid in the same spot for hours staring at it with hate filled eyes. Now here’s the great part. While she is unimpressed with this food dish, I am in heaven. She has been using this for about a month. We have had ONE small vomit pile in the last month (probably because she stole the dogs food). One vomit pile!! It has been like a mother effing Christmas miracle. She really has to work for her food and that takes time so she is eating slow! We use soft food and smash it down between multiple cracks. I know if her eyes were laser beams I would be dead by now. Also on the plus side, she is now able to jump on our king size bed again. The chair and couch she couldn’t jump on? No problem, is like she’s three again-she can damn near fly. She’s sassy again instead of a geriatric old bag.I have determined this cat dish has allowed our cat to keep in nutrients and that in turn is making her spunky again. So not only do I not have to clean up nasty cat vomit- the dish is legit prolonging her 19 year old self.Best pet purchase ever!! Best ever!

Perfect for cat shaped faces!
Finally a slow feeder that doesn’t get my cat’s face and whiskers dirty because it’s too deep. This shallow mat is perfect for small, cat shaped faces and slows them down perfectly. Washes great in the dishwasher too.

Would Work for One Kitty - Not Quite Big Enough For My Three
Good concept and well made but I wish it had more of a rim around the edges to keep the food off the floor. As it is I put it on a rubber mat. It's a bit small for my 3 kitties but would be great for one. I did try it with wet food to slow down my gobbler but it was too difficult for him to get his tongue in the grooves for that purpose. I've run it through the dishwasher a few times and it's come out just fine.

If you love dog farts then this isn't for you.
This thing is awesome! One of our dogs would eat his food in about 5 seconds then torture us all day with his horrendous gas. We tried a bamboo one before but over time it got little scratches that would collect gunk and bacteria that would not come out. We tried pretty much everything and wasted a lot of money. Since we bought this one we've not had any issues with gas or him wolfing it down. It takes him about 2 minutes now to eat and I love that we can throw it in the dishwasher. It holds about 1.5 maybe 2 cups of food.

Good, but needed a little tweaking
We have 4 darlings..1 of whom likes to beat his own world record for fastest eating....at every meal. His eating habits were starting to add some extra poundage, so we thought we might try something new to get him to slow it down. This was a pretty good success, and furball is even leaving the little bit he can't get to in the bowl, and even taking breaks to look at one of us pleadingly or change directions. We do not feed anything but wet food so it's a tad messy but cleanup is still easy-tap out any remaining food and just wash with soap and water and let dry. The only complaints we have is that it does not stay put on a tile floor (we fixed this by adding a small salad plate underneath), and the partition walls are just too high-he doesn't have a short snout, but since I wanted him to actually use this and not get frustrated, we cut a tiny bit off each part making it just a little more accessible (yes, he still has to work for the food). All in all, a good buy.

Probably work for smaller food
Probably will work better for smaller kernels of food. We have two cats that are both on a diet. However, the larger one will eat quickly and then go eat the smaller one's food, which defeats the diet for the larger one. I bought this for the larger cat. It looked like it might work well, but the size of the diet food kept getting caught between the narrower "fins". We tried to fix it by taking a X-acto knife and cutting away part of the dish in the narrow areas. That worked much better but there were still some narrow areas that kept trapping the food, which would drive both cats crazy. So I got out the X-acto knife again and took out every other "fin". Now the food doesn't get caught, but it doesn't slow down the larger cat at all. I'll go shopping again.I will say that the material of the dish was soft and didn't bother the cats at all. It was a good idea, but just not for larger chunks of food that are the exact same size as the narrow areas.

Great.... If the kitty isn't a greedy beast!
The cat knows how to lift it up and dump it. Defeated the purpose. We even tried to use double sided tape to hod it down. He knows how to detach that, too. He eats EVERYTHING!
