Clarks Men's Cotrell Walk Oxford

Soles wear out quickly leading to dangerously slippery situation
Comfortable and good looking shoe but be warned that within 6-9 months the soles will become worn flat and smooth from heel to toe to the point that if you are not extremely careful, in even the slightest damp conditions, you will fall! It's a shame when the laces outlive your shoe itself...

very comfortable, no more sore feet, look good enough
I have never left a shoe review. However, I love these shoes! I actually feel excited to wear them. I know that seems over the top, but after dreading the days of wearing my more formal shoes with a slight heel, these are like heaven on my feet. I'm a teacher. Most days I wear a tie, and I did wonder if these shoes would look too informal. However, no one notices them, because they're just fairly plain black shoes, and they aren't dorky tennis shoes, so they don't stand out. At the end of the day, my feet don't hurt. That's a major upgrade! I prefer these to slip-on shoes, which can't be tightened. Stick with laces, which can make the shoe fit however you'd like. They felt a bit stiff at first, where the shoe naturally creases horizontally, across the top of my foot, as well as the raised area at the back, around my heel. However, after 2 days of wearing them, these areas loosened up, and I don't notice any stiffness. I am happy with my purchase, and I would definitely buy these again in the future.

Great shoes.
I've bought Clarks for a few years now. These shoes meet my expectations. They're great for jobs that require you to stand a lot. As a teacher, I stand a lot, and walk around a lot, too. The primary frustration I've had with Clarks in general is the soul of the shoe. They wear out fairly quickly (to me, a year is fairly quickly), and, as they do, they become slippery in water. I would recommend these shoes, especially for those on their feet in office/business environments, but be aware you'll need to replace them about every 12-15 months if you use them more often then 1-2 days a week.

Nice Fit, Looks, but I question the durability.
Update:I have had these shoes for nearly two years and they have held together very nicely. They fit great and they are still comfortable. I bought another pair of Clark's since then and swap between them. The leather looks slightly worn, but it's not trashy. The soles are started to get rather slick and will most likely be the cause of these shoes demise. I still recommend them. I actually recommend any Clark shoe in general.Original Review: 2017, MayInitial thoughts:- Very nice looking- Fit well- Very light- The "lightness" gives me concerns about durability.- Leather scuffs easilyI am concerned that these shoes will not last me very long. My previous pair of Clarks UNStructured shoes were GREAT. I wore them until the insoles were starting to get uncomfortable and the soles were slick. They had a little heft to them and made me confident that they would get me through the long haul. The jury is still out on these. Like I said, they look nice, feel nice, and I like them... Just concerned they may not last. The soles do not appear as durable and the way the leather scuffs up if I accidently kick something has me on edge. But, I'm going to stick with them. If something drastic happens soon, I will be sure to update the review.

They are OK but nothing to write home about!
Clark's are not what they used to be. I actually have a long but narrow foot. Clark's never used to fit me. I am a 10.5 narrow so you can imagine why as Clark's generally run wide. But then about 8 years ago I found this pair called the Clark Pyramid. I tried on a 10 and it fit so well I couldn't believe it. I think because they were making them longer, so the 10 fit as opposed to a 10.5 which is how my foot measures. Now those pair needed replacing a few years back and I found a pair at 9.5 that fit and I think only because they are soft leather which lets my foot stretch a bit without binding my big toe or little toe. Those were the Sektor 4 Eyes. But lately I can't find any that fit as well as either of my old pair. Additionally they seem to be making them cheaper each year. They don't have the same sturdy feel or construction and all the soles seem to be the same pre-molded bottoms. And you can't count on them being "true to size" which is what people need to know when buying a shoe. I went through 4 different sizes and shoes before finding these and I'm not really happy with the fit but it's the best I could find and I need a new pair of shoes for evening events. I could wear these for a few hours, 3 or4 maybe, but wouldn't want to for much longer than that.

Great Shoes so far
This is the first time I have bought a pair of Clarkâs and I only bought them on a recommendation from a friend of my wife. I first bought a size 10 which is what I usually wear, but they were tight. I reordered a 10 wide and they fit perfectly. They are light weight shoes and they look nice. I am on my feet a lot and go through work shows within 8 months to a year so I have tried many different brands and styles usually going with Sketchers. But in comparison these are much lighter and more comfortable. One thing I am not keen on is the foot tread it was a bit slick when I first used them but scuffing the soles on concrete has helped some. All in all a nice pair of shoes. Time will only tell how long they hold up.

Inconsistent fitting.
I have a hard time finding shoes that are comfortable. If one thing is OK, another isn't.My biggest problem on many shoes is that the tongues are too long and dig into my leg. Other problems include the heels not fitting right and the crease in the shoe when you bend your foot digging into my toes.I bought a pair of these and they fit perfectly. They are extremely comfortable and very light. But, they still have good padding. I can walk for miles in them and they are just as comfortable as running shoes. They were so nice, I ordered two black and two brown pairs. The fitting is inconsistent. The black pairs were good enough. One brown pair was OK. The other one had too long of a tongue. I ordered two more replacements and they were also bad. Amazon finally gave up on me and stopped sending me new pairs to try and gave me a refund.

It's sad. J
There are two problems with these shoes. The size that I ordered is correct but the ankle is extremely small and it is very hard to get your foot into the shoe. The second problem is the heel because it is very low and the shoe is not confortable when you walk. I WISH, I could return them and I would re-order the Skechers. HOWEVER, I used them once and I don't have the original box anymore. It's sad.J.Claude NaudAug 02, 2017

Very light and comfortable
Ordered the wide fit for my son. The fit perfectly. These are the second pair I have bought for him to go with his private school uniform. The only reason I needed to replace them was because he grew out of the first pair. He wore them every day for an entire year in our rainy climate walking to the bus and back and they were brand new still in June. These shoes are incredibly light and very comfortable for everyday use.

Good fittings for size 10.5 - Soles not removable!!
1 week into using the shoes. I really liked the fitting. Slightly on the expensive side considering the overall quality. Few concerns are:1) The grips under the shoes are pretty light and might have issues in cold countries with below Zero temperatures. You have to be careful as it does not grip well.2) The sole is not removable. Since I have a custom sole to fit my foot shape, I had to insert the custom sole over the existing sole. It still fits well since there is enough depth.

Not what I remember quality wise.
I've been buying these Clarks for years along with many other variations of this shoe. These ones have a very cheap and hard leather. Feels extremely cheap compared to any Clarks I had in the past. I have some black and brown versions that are about a year old and the leather is way more supple and durable.
