Q: Are these really floods? What on earth were they thinking? Geeky.

Yes, the legs don’t drop all the way down. 3/4 length I guess. It’s meant to be used over regular pants as an additional external layer. Being shorter helps to put on without taking the shoes off when the weather turns or gets colder during longer sit. I wear gaiters as well so no problem. If these were regular length wearing without gaiters covering these packable pants could ruin the material rather easier than a heavy weatherproof overalls.
